Chuck Todd: McCain's Got No Ground Game (VIDEO)

Chuck Todd had nothing but bad news for John McCain on "Morning Joe" today. "Lets get realistic," he said, before adding Colorado, Virginia, and Florida to Barack Obama's column. Other battleground states Todd rated as "pure tossups," but then he added, "So what? If Obama is up in these three, and you're hearing very negative comments come out of the McCain campaign about Colorado, Virginia ... and then there's Florida, which has really slipped away from McCain."

"There is no ground game," Joe Scarborough responded. Todd agreed, adding that Democrats were already doing better in early voting, based on ballot requests. "The ground game, it is just absent from the McCain campaign ... At this point, the only state that I feel good about for McCain is Ohio." He posited that McCain could win that state but lose the election, which would be "very frustrating to Republicans."

I saw that show this morning. Nothing appears to have changed since this summer. When a McCain spokes person was asked this past summer why McCain was not advertising and had no ground people placed in FL, the response was "the people that will vote f or McCain winter in FL." Or something to that affect. I blinked. What kind of response was that? McCain had his nomination clinched in March. Why was this not taken care of back then?

Already Voted Absentee Ballot in Washington State, Obama/Biden has my vote locked in...now if we could just get everyone else to vote the same way, or for that matter just get out and vote...it is all good, Especially for Obama/Biden, the more the voters vote, the Higher the numbers for the Democrats.­.

voting early is one of the best things we can do to get things "banked" for Obama.

GOTV on election day will be more effective if we've already spent the prior two weeks, getting early votes.

Many of us around here have been reiterating that it's "all about the ground game"... now the MSM is catching up. McCain's ground game isn't there because there is no deep enthusiasm for his campaign.

All of this is a reflection of what is being seen on the trail. 100,000 show up for Obama, 7,000 for McCain.

From what I see here in the bluest county in Fl. Things look very good in terms of voter turnout.

I wanted to vote yesterday but the line was too long and today, and the line was longer on my way to work, meandering around the library.

I guess I will have to go this weekend with some friends so we can at least entertain ourselves.

At this point the GOP is praying that Obama has a Macaca Moment and his campaign collapses in a heap. Not going to happen though. Of all of Obama's characteristics remaining cool and collected is first and foremost.

McCain is doomed. To win, all Obama has to do is win his solid states and his leaning states and he has 286 . More than enough. For McCain to win he has to win ALL of his solid states, All of his leaning states, ALL of the toss up states PLUS he will have to find 11 EV from one of The Obama leaning states to get to 270. That would require a long series of consecutive miracles.

Probably not if you've voted before and have a voter reg card (at least that's how it is in SC). It's the new voters that often have to provide a government issue picture id that matches their current address along with their voter reg card. New voters will probably have the most trouble voting. So, if you can vote early, do it! That will give you the opportunity to find out early if there is a problem and you will have a chance to solve the problem. If you find it on Election Day it will be difficult to correct.

If your state does require ID, and you have an elderly relative that does not drive or have a drivers license, take them to the license center in your state and they will still take a picture of them and give the the photo ID that is required to vote.

Don't worry about it. Your state must not require ID. In may states, it's illegal for the poll workers to ask for ID, believe it or not. In some states they require them, which, it is argued, makes it harder for poor people to vote, because they do not have a driver's license and cannot afford it.

If anyone has a doubt, they should check with their local Registrar of Voters or whatever your state calls it. Here in CA, I've never been asked for ID. If you're registered, your name is on the voter role at your election site and they just check your name off so no one else can vote under your name.

Chuck Todd was on fire on Hardball, coming up with words to describe how bad off McCain's camp is. He had to really reach to find anything positive to say.

Chuck T uses the most conservative approach to the races and has been pretty accurate this election cycle, even in the primaries, so when even he can't find anything good for McCain's chances, Barack's chances are looking VERY GOOD.

Do not believe Todd! Get out there and make everyone vote early!! Did everyone see the Rachael M. show with Bobby K, Jr? Get out there, black, old, Asian, young, Latino voters! Vote early -- they are really trying to stop you!! PLEASE, PLEASE GET ID NOW! Run don't walk to the DMV, if you don't drive, get a state ID and make sure it's the same info on your voter card as on your ID. Make sure you are registered at the house/apt you live in now!

I too don't believe Todd, his wife works for McCain's campaigng that why I have my doubts but I did watched Robert Kennedy Jr. on Rachel Maddow tonight too. He also stated that minorities especially African American should personally go into vote rather than filling out an absentee ballot if they want their vote to be counted.

Well I'm AA and I voted absentee, only because I am active duty military.

Just the fact that Todd says that he only feels safe about Ohio for McCain says enough for me, and the fact that Morning Joe said that there was NO ground game speaks volumes. I haven't seen much of a ground game from McCain either here in Virginia, just canvassing from the Obama team.

I like Chuck Todd. But, don't believe anyone who says this race is over. Votes have been purged and many voters don't even realize this yet. The voters targeted are Dem voters (young, old, minorities, etc). Don't rest and don't believe anyone who says we don't need to work hard to get every vote out that we possibly can.
