Palin Claims Vice President "In Charge Of The U.S. Senate"

Yesterday, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) sat for an interview with KUSA, an NBC affiliate in Colorado. In response to a question sent to the network by a third grader at a local elementary school about what the Vice President does, Palin erroneously argued that the Vice President is "in charge of the United States Senate":

Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, "What does the Vice President do?"

PALIN: That's something that Piper would ask me! ... [T]hey're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

A little off subject...but the Fed Chairman endorsed OBAMA yesterday!!! He's a Republican very close to the financial crisis...and he endorsed Obama!!!

I say let this one go. It's normal and common to developmentally-down language when talking to kids. Making a big deal out of a questionable gaff has the potential of reducing the credability of the importance of her real ones. (And there are so many). That's what the Republicans have been doing, so let's not make their mistakes.

SHE WAS N-O-T talking to kids!!! She was in an interview with someone in the media-the question came from a third -grader. There were NO KIDS THERE!! SHE GETS NO PASS FOR THIS!!! She has been asked this question at least 3 times-and still has no clue!!!

1st. she said, "someone will have to tell me exactly what it is the VP does."

2nd. debate she said, "I'm thankful that the Constitution would allow a bit more authority given to the vice president if that vice president so chose to exert it in working with the Senate" -- WRONG SARAH

3rd time interview on tv: "That alone provides a tremendous amount of flexibility and authority if that vice president so chose to use it." -- WRONG SARAH

4th. time yesterday interview: "they're in charge of the United States Senate, so if they want to they can really get in there with the Senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better" -- WRONG SARAH

Mika Brezenzki wants to give Palin a pass for this! Please, Palin has been asked this 4 times and still doesn't get it right and she's running for the office! Mika and Bay Buchanan have both said that it doesn't matter since it's to 3rd graders! What an insult to our children, maybe that's why our education system is the way it is because people don't seem to care about misinformation or lying to our children. How sad that a potential VP is dumber than a 3rd grader and other women are ok with it!

Well, Palin's comment during her one of her infrequent interviews does not surprise me in the least. In fact, the Republican party and McCain should be commended for their selection of Palin as their choice of VP. Afterall, they remain consistent in choosing from the bottom rung of the ladder candidates that shouldn't even be considered, i.e., Bush -- Palin is Bush in drag is all. Need we say anymore. I wonder if the Republicans have ever wanted to elect a President who is smarter than they are? hmmm . . .

That's it - she needs to have daily interviews! She can talk about her new clothes, how she likes Neiman Marcus better than Saks, how to fill out an Alaskan income tax form, what parts of America are "really American," etc. And, to show that she has no prejudice against any network, the networks will interview her on rotating basis. I nominate Keith Olbermann of MSNBC to be the first to interview her.
