Below is the first trailer for the Kate Hudson/Anne Hathaway comedy "Bride Wars," about two best friends pitted against each other on their wedding day, with Candice Bergen costarring. Hudson hasn't had many successes of late ("My Best Friend's Girl" was her most recent box office letdown) and Hathaway is busy trying to forget her ex boyfriend/conman Rafaello Follieri. As an african america woman, I wonder why white women do not see the stupidity the film industry perpetuates making this blatantly sexist and silly movie promoting this shallow depiction of two affluent women bickering over their wedding taking place at some ritzy hotel. This movie industry keeps the image that young white women are self centered idiots without anymore concern but their over the top nuptials and the lengths they would go to degrade one another to sabotage each other's wedding.
They couldn't write a script about two women serving in the military, or two female lawyers battling over a case, or two corporate executives and their rivalry..nah..I saw the trailer and no one laughed.

Nicely put, Dalovely. Women are expected to march out and spend their money on trash like this and The Women when in reality the smart ladies I know avoid this crap like the plague. And what's with women battling each other?!? Enough already. Unless it's a vintage Dynasty catfight, I have no interest.

Hasn't Kate Hudson been in about a dozen of these wedding movies? Nevertheless, Anne Hathaway's presence will probably make this a hit. She's got the golden touch....hell, even the movies she's turned down ("Knocked Up") are hits.
