Chicago Republican Objects To McCain's Attack Ads

John McCain supporter and former Republican Illinois gubernatorial candidate Ron Gidwitz disagrees with John McCain's attempts to tie Barack Obama to "a corrupt Chicago political machine," Bloomberg reports:

"I'm not crazy about negative advertising,'' said Gidwitz, a partner at investment firm GCG Partners and former chief executive officer of Helene Curtis Industries Inc., the Chicago beauty products company. The ads ``weren't helpful for the city,'' he said.

Another McCain backer, Republican Congressional candidate Jim Oberweis, "wouldn't agree when asked if McCain's ads were a fair portrayal of his rival," according to Bloomberg.

McCain has ignored good advice and has plunged full-throttle toward the edge. He has become his own worst enemy, lost his identity, and now finds himself drowning in the mire, He's lost his bearings as a man. His behavior has become characterized by paranoia, delusion, and a lack of focus and purpose. He's in denial and grasping for every straw. His outrageous behavior and poor judgement would be cause for termination in most jobs. Yet, here he is, running for the highest office in the land and many, many Americans are ignoring the glaring lack of qualifications. The presidency is a position that requires intellectual aptitude above the norm, honesty, strength, temperateness, thoughtful consideration of the issues, and a high degree of insight and problem solving skills. McCain has failed to demonstrate these qualities to any appreciable degree. His poor judgement has become increasingly evident in his selection of Palin. She's become a drag and a liability. He refuses to reject the low-down attacks and half-truths that have now become his mantra. His campaign has become the quicksand that is pulling him down. He's becoming increasingly threatened by the criticism being leveled against him. He's tossing aside the call to cease and desist from well-respected leaders within his own party. He must think no one is watching or listening. People need to see this for what it is - obfuscation and smokescreen tactics designed to cloud the facts - McCain & Palin ARE NOT QUALIFIED!

Two quick comments: First, that photo of McCain is chilling, and not in a good way. Second, I can't wait for the first spate of books about McCain and this farce of a campaign that will be written by current and former campaign staffers and probably start hitting bookstores next year.
