ABC News:

When your adversaries are praising you, you must be doing something right.

Listen to this from one top Republican campaign official who says Barack Obama's ground game is unlike anything we've ever seen before:

"This is the greatest ground game they've ever put together," he told ABC News on the condition of anonymity. "It's scary."

He said Obama holds a considerable ground game advantage over McCain and suggests the Democratic nominee has hundreds of paid staffers in each state.

I've always thought that how you approach the campaign is a good indication of what your style as president might be. Obama has a well-planned, organized strategy, based on people who are excited to see him win, so excited they are willing to work to make it happen. This would be a great style to bring to the white house, so much better than we have had (ever?) in a long time. And we see also that there is much positive energy and hope for better things to come, that it's possible to reverse the negative spiral with enough effort.

McCain's campaign has been angry, extremely negative, it excites hate and distrust, divides people - even in the party. Decisions are made on impulses rather than being planned and thought through. They have been trying to win by changing focus from the issues to distractions of irrelevant junk. One can only guess how the country would be run with him in the white house. There is no hope, only fear and doubt.

There is a finally possibility that "we the people" will finally have a chance against the mysterious men in smoke-filled rooms and the lobbyists and the super rich interests. The secret is not to let up, but to stay engaged after the election. Do not put Obama and the renewed congress at the mercy of those interests.

Can't help thinking that with an Obama/Biden Whitehouse, Senators and Representatives will be free to actually listen to their constituents and bring their concerns to the capitol. Obama has made it clear that this is about US. Only we can make it happen and we should not become apathetic again. I feel we can trust we will be heard. We will be heard and if we can't have something we will know why. I look forward to a government where it is about the people and our representatives can really represent us, not themselves.

Here are some of the differences in the campaigns:

Obama doesn't attack on a personal level.

You don't hear Booing at Obama rallies (one time and O squashed it)

Obama has a message of hope, not hate.

The repugs have screwed this country and everyone knows it.

Oh Yeah and Obama doesn't have an idiot as a running mate

As a PA resident, I can attest to the truth in this column. I've never been involved in a political campaign before, but I could not stand on the sidelines, with the primary being so close, and began volunteering for the Obama campaign in February (and switched my registration from Independent to Democrat, so I could vote). I joined an Obama '08 group in Chester county, one of eight volunteer offices, with a few paid staffers helping us. Other volunteers described never having volunteered in a campaing before, or not having done so since RFK, several had previously been Republicans. Those who were Democrat regulars said this was the best-run campaign they'd ever worked with, and the only one that worked from the bottom up. Our county registered thousands of new Democrats before the PA primary, and we registered thousands of new voters before the deadline for the general election. This just represents a single, relatively small county in PA. More work is being done all over the state, and it's wonderful to be a part of.

But it's still a da*n shame that he has run this almost perfect campaign and is still scrambling for votes. It is more a blight on America that Sen.Obama has had to be perfect and act perfect to even be viable in this race whereas McCain has ran a trainwreck of a campaign and is still in the running. Da*n shame.

There's about 40% that are just hardcore republicans -- who will always vote that way no matter what. McCain's hovering right around there -- so there's not many more votes Obama can get.

Why are we making the same mistakes as the former Soviet Union? I have been asking this for 5 years now and Obama is the only one who seems to get it. We can not sustain multiple wars around the globe with no consensus and no help footing the bill and continue to be the greatest country in the world. We are over-extended as a nation.

We are neglecting our infrastructure, education, economy, environment, innovation. We are falling behind, because of George Bush, John McCain and the GOP and their dumb ideology. It's sickening to me that McCain is still pulling around 40- 44%.

John McCain is dangerous. He's an over achiever still getting by on his name. Other than that, he has never been the best nor the brightest. This is what we need - the best and the brightest; so we don't continue to make the same mistakes the FORMER Soviet Union made by going bankrupt chasing after a false sense of security and world order in an orderless world by forcing our beliefs on others who deserve the freedom to live how they would like.

I love this country and I would like it to still be here for my kids and theirs - so VOTE!

There are variables that can swing the numbers here a bit - but essentially the Repugs at 100% EV turnout are capped at 42% or conversely the Dems at 58%. The 55% EV turnout that we have favors R's. At 65% turnout the D's are essentially a safe bet.

In two Party elections: 21% are hardwired authoritarian voters - where the Repug's brand of Right appeals to them unquestioned (hey - they are hardwired).. 9% are hardwired authoritarian but a Leftist leader turns their brain's circuits on so they are unquestioning Dems. The remaining 70% splits 3-7 for the Dems. These are the "swing" voters -- but only 30% of these will swing to the R's agenda. They are sound bite or specialized issue voters. Honestly informed and thinking voters that are not hardwired generally know a lever pulled for the Dem in these National elections is a lever pulled for their best general interests (has been since the Depression and FDR).

Get out the vote and go vote! High turnout is a Repug killer at National level!!!

Note to GOP, that's because Obama is genuine, he's been there, down in the you know People's place, working, in debt, paying off college bills, raising kids, and he didn't forget where he came from.
Sorry guys, you can't can that, package that, put lipstick on it, buy it, borrow it, or STEAL it. It's something you either have or don't. He doesn't fly off the handle and "Suspend" his so called campaign to put on the cape and fly to DC to save the economy, but then stay in New York to appear on television with Katie. Then finally shows up and says nothing. He doesn't tell foreign countries, "your either with us or against us", "bring it on", or, your wavin the white flag of surrender".
The man has brains, and something else your guy and campaign goons don't have, CLASS.

Not sure what exactly you think is bad here - I imagine the campaign has enough money to pay for the expenses involved although there are bound to be headaches over logistics etc. But surely most O'bama supporters enjoyed seeing on television the huge crowd of people, not just convention attendees, at his acceptance speech in Denver. So I think it's nice that he wants to share the events of the night of Nov 4th with a lot of people in the Chicago area, instead of making it a private indoor event at some ballroom. I just hope the results will be overwhelmingly positive for the Dems, so there will be good reason to celebrate.

"I just hope the results will be overwhelmingly positive for the Dems, so there will be good reason to celebrate."

That's why I'm worried.

I understand things have to be done in "anticipation" of a win, but it seems to give credence to McCain's "measuring the drapes" crack.

The Obama campaign has already agreed to pay for the costs, including EMTs, security, overtime for city workers as needed, clean-up, etc.

The city is in debt big time and Obama cetainly can't and doesn't expect them to pick up the tab. It's also why they are charging the press to gain access, so they can recoup some of the cost to them.

I had a sad moment for Hillary the other day when she said (paraphrasing) that nobody should 'assume' anything .... a lesson she learned the hard way, to be sure!

Hillary understands that while a candidate can be the frontrunner for a long time, at the end of the day, all that really counts, is the VOTE .... it would be a shame if Obama supporters took victory for granted, and stayed home on November 4.

GO VOTE EARLY if you can .... but VOTE ! Take NOTHING for granted, it aint over 'till it's OVER ....

GO VOTE EARLY if you can ... you or someone you love might get sick on Nov 3 or 4 and you might be unable to go!

GO VOTE EARLY if you can .... there may be problems at the precincts .... don't be caught out !

GO VOTE EARLY if you can ... Obama has been working his butt off for 2 yrs, just for this one DAY .... don't let him down, when he needs YOU

GO VOTE EARLY if you can .... elections are won one vote at a time, and the result lasts 4 yrs!

THE TWO MAIN PROBLEMS THAT THE McCAIN MOB HAS, IS THAT THEY OVERESTIMATE THEIR ABILITIES AND STRATEGIES WHILE UNDERESTIMATING THEIR OPPONENTS ABILITIES AND STRATEGIES. AND THAT IS A PERFECT RECIPE FOR DEFEAT. I 'VE ALWAYS SAID THAT, HUBRIS ON THE BATTLE FIELD IS A FOOLS COMPANION.
