Palin Larson

As news of Sarah Palin's $150,000 shopping spree unfolds, The Atlantic reveals that Sarah Palin's personal shopper, Jeff Larson, has an interesting resumé.

Does the name Jeff Larson sound familiar? It should. Larson is the Karl Rove protégé who's a principal in the robocalling firm of FLS Connect (the "FLS" stands for Tony Feather, Jeff Larson, and Tom Syndhorst, all veteran Republican political operatives). Larson's firm is the same one that launched the scurrilous robocalls against John McCain in 2000, and that McCain has now hired to make robocalls connecting Barack Obama to Bill Ayers. He's also well known in Minnesota for leasing his basement apartment at a steeply discounted rate to embattled Republican Senator Norm Coleman. Evidently, Larson also has quite the eye for women's fashion. Even hateful liberals would have to admit that Palin dresses awfully nicely.

Keep reading to see the Schedule F form that lists Larson as the purchaser of, among other things, $75,062.63 in clothes and accessories at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis.

They have been dressing her up quite well though, with that fresh tan and cool jackets, makes me want to have sexytime with her.... Ugh God that's so sick... And hot for that reason.

Folks it's not the clothes per say, as we all know that women have to dress well regardless, of their talent,if they want to get ahead. Men's suits are always men's just -(-even though Obama looks damn good in his) I just wonder why they didn't know the cost would be discovered and talked about. The RNC certainly doesn't seem to connect their campaign of "working for Joe six-pack" with their expenditures. Remember Nancy Reagan and her clothes and how surprised they were when people questions $5,000 evening purses? Again they just don't get it. But what is telling is they don't get anything right now. They won't stop the Robocalls, they keep speaking lies even when pointed out to them, they act like broken records caught on one continuous tread. It is no different. I'm from AZ and waiting to see how the paper handles their endorsement next week. It should be interesting. They probably don't want to support him but will find it hard not to do so. B ut I really wonder why the press doesn't pick up that Palin hit big oil companies with the largest tax increases in Alaskan history to give the money to the citizens. Isn't that socialisn? I want to know what do you have to do to get that money? Live there a year, register your car --what? Forget the big cities, I'm moving to Alaska --the most socialist state in the union. Why can' the feds do that?

Wake up people... the Republicans will never care about the Walmart,Target shoppers.. If she's such a regular woman why not let her buy her own clothes like HIllary did. Michelle Obama's dress that she wore on the view was 150,still too much for me..as a single mom, with 4 kids..I feel good when I can the bogo special at payless.. once a year..

Yes. They don't seem to understand the "rest" of us too well, do they? From their perspective "the clothes make the man/woman". They really believe that everyone thinks that way..."We gotta dress her up!"

What is this, "My Fair Lady"???

Jeff and Karl do have a good eye for expensive women's clothing.
Sarah does look FABULOUS!
Jeff and Karl do discuss the new seasonal colors from time to time.
I wonder what fashion extravaganza they'll surprise the nation with next.

Horrifying imagery, Winslow. Absolutely horrifying, especially with regard to Rove. Pfizer owes you...big time.

This woman has been campaigning as a Walmart / Target regular hockey Mom yet she parades around in $2500 dress jackets and spending $31,000 on makeup and hair? An image change was definitly in order but this is absurd.

I am growing concerned that the outrage at the clothing expenditure might be underemphaisizing some crucial points. I find it less than shocking that the RNC would spend $150,000 on something related to the public presentation of a candidate. How does this differ from spending money on producing expensive political ads rather than basing production decisions on cost alone? However, if we take Ms. Palin's wardrobe to be the equivalent of advertising, we can also see the unabashed sexism underlying this decision. If ads are intended to draw attention to a particular attribute of a particular candidate (e.g., historical fact, talent, voting record, alleged misconduct), to what is clothing intended to draw attention? Rather than invest this money in Ms. Palin's ability to participate in substantive discussions--by, for example, paying experts to "brief" her on the economy, foreign policy, etc.--the campaign invested money in Ms. Palin's ability to participate in photo opportunities and "appearances." This decision represents a gross insult to women, in general, and to Ms. Palin, in particular.

Let me get this straight...McCain is paying the guy who sunk his campaign in 2000 to dress the woman who's sinking his campaign today?
