Jeff Larson: Sarah Palin's Personal Shopper Is Karl Rove's Former Protégé

As news of Sarah Palin's $150,000 shopping spree unfolds, The Atlantic reveals that Sarah Palin's personal shopper, Jeff Larson, has an interesting resumé.

Does the name Jeff Larson sound familiar? It should. Larson is the Karl Rove protégé who's a principal in the robocalling firm of FLS Connect (the "FLS" stands for Tony Feather, Jeff Larson, and Tom Syndhorst, all veteran Republican political operatives). Larson's firm is the same one that launched the scurrilous robocalls against John McCain in 2000, and that McCain has now hired to make robocalls connecting Barack Obama to Bill Ayers. He's also well known in Minnesota for leasing his basement apartment at a steeply discounted rate to embattled Republican Senator Norm Coleman. Evidently, Larson also has quite the eye for women's fashion. Even hateful liberals would have to admit that Palin dresses awfully nicely.

Jeff Larson is also the guy who gives Norm Coleman a sweetheart deal on his "room" in DC. It's in a house that Jeff Larson owns but rarely occupies, so, in essence, Coleman has the use of a house for the price of a room rental.

Why should this alienate women? Except maybe jealous women who hate other women in general, and especially hate women who have better than what they've got. We have to look at Sarah as she campaigns. It's better for everybody if she looks nice. And cheap clothes stretch and wrinkle. They don't go the distance.

So any suit less than $8,000 is "cheap"? No one questions that she needed new clothes (seriously, she had HORRIBLE, tacky taste), but very nice suits can be purchased for around $300 each, at full retail. As for "not going the distance" these were clothes supposedly for just these three months, then to be donated---again a $300 suit would've held up just fine.

And honestly, for that much money being spent, she looks quite unimpressive, most of her stuff looks very Ann Taylor Loft to me. If I'd spent $150K on new clothes, I'd drip with Chanel and Hermes.

That said, since there is clearly quite an outrage over this, I guess a lot of "women hate other women", but I suppose they aren't "real" or "pro" Americans.

This alienates this woman, because $150,000 is more than twice as much as my family earns in a year. Palin is no Joe Six-Pack. Contrast this with Michelle Obama who looks stunning and dignified in a $138 dress. I'm guessing Ms. Obama paid for it herself, too. But I guess if you have plans to subvert the Constitution, you need to be really well-dressed.
