I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Randy Scheunemann

This morning, for reasons beyond understanding, the McCain campaign is going to have a conference call, in which they will presumably turn down the endorsement of al Qaeda. They'll also probably try to run a little bit of reverse-psychology jujitsu on the reporters, gathered for what will hopefully be the Greatest Campaign Conference Call of 2008. This stratagem was advanced, briefly, in the Washington Post article on this news, which included this statement: "Some terrorism experts said the support for McCain could be mere bluster by a group that may have more to fear from a McCain presidency." Who are, "some terrorism experts?" I'm guessing McCain adviser Randy Scheunemann, who will be doing the conference call.

Chances are, Scheunemann will lament the fact that al Qaeda doesn't spend enough time listening to Joe Biden, and everyone should probably take a drink at the almost certain invocation of Bill Ayers' name. Some reporter should probably ask Scheunemann why Barack Obama doesn't inspire the necessary hatred in our enemies to wake up every morning and go to their terror training camps to jam across those monkey bars with jihadist passion. Just words? Anyway, the bottom line is that John McCain probably wishes al Qaeda would have taken the time to sit down with Sarah Palin and listen to her qualifications before rendering their judgment.

This morning, for reasons beyond understanding, the McCain campaign is going to have a conference call, in which they will presumably turn down the endorsement of al Qaeda. They'll also probably try ...

Of course they would rather see a McCain presidency. McCain thinks the problem is in Iraq. Al-Qaeda wants to keep the infidels as far away as possible so that they can recruit and build their strength against an incompetent McCain.

Absolutely. First Bush got rid of Saddam, a secular leader Al Qaeda hated, and now McCain wants a war with (Shia) Iran, which (Sunni) Al Qaeda also hates. These guys are getting rid of all Bin Laden's enemies for him

This endorsement holds as much water as one from Santa Claus, both are fictional.

It's on their website. Did someone hack the terrorists' website and put it there?

Al Qeuda does not want to feel the wrath of President Obama because they know that most of the world would be behind us in their defeat!

You are spot on. The administration of President Obama would ultimately spell the end of al Q'aeda, if not terrorism which is an unfortunate fact of modern life. We do not have to destroy our economy and our constitution to deal with this threat. Just ask the Brits, Irish, Indians. Spanish, Indoensians, Germans or the Italians.

Just don't kid yourself into thinking ANY presidency would bring about the end of terrorism. Wars on concepts never work and there will always be people who disagree. An Obama administration would certainly be preferable to a McCain one with regard to foreign policy especially, but I'm sorry, even Obama cannot bring about world peace.

Obama gets endorsed by Colin Powell and McCain gets endorsed by Al-Qaeda. Not a great week for McCain. Maybe he should turn things around by buying Sarah a new wardrobe. Or maybe, have her appear on Saturday Night Live with a dancing moose.

Already tried that? Oh well. Just try rigging the election instead- the Supreme Court still has a Republican majority.

"Not a great week for McCain?" That's like the Brits referring to WWII as "the recent unpleasantness!"

For John McCain to get the endorsement by Al Qaeda, a known terrorist organization, is priceless. He's probably now regretting that he did not get Colin Powell's endorsement.

The icing on the proverbial cake would now be for Bill Ayers to come out with a ringing endorsement of "Mac 'n' Cheese!" How's that for an October Surprise?

To Jason's point ..... why on earth a press conference. Haven't seen anything from the Obama Campaign. Hopefully they'll continue to stay quiet and let McCain try and explain all this reverse-reverse-reality to the American voter. Their argument no doubt will be that Obama is really who they support but they want to just mislead everyone and confuse them 'cos they're really scared of McCain. Oh my. What a tangled web Mr. McCain (unintentionally) seems to weave.

How does McCain know who Bin Laden really supports, is he their friend? McCain is the Manchurian candidate for Cheney and Rove. And Bin Laden hasn't been caught because he is good friends with Cheney/Bush/Rove and now McPalin.

"Palin" around with Terrorists, are we?

I knoew this was going to happen. They will just say that this is a trick to get the American people to actually vote for Obama because they know Americans will do the opposite of what they say. Frrack it! They're going to play the fear card till election day. Thats all the republicans ever had.

You're right. They are going to use this endorsement to attack Obama and say that this is the strategy of Al Q a e d a to get Obama elected. I can just imagine the right wing conservative talk shows will use that tactic.

It's already been reported and commented upon by experts that Al-Queda does not want an American president who has overwhelming popular support. So this comes as no surprise and is nothing new. Our enemies want a McCain/Palin presidency to undermine our strength, the support of our allies, and to destroy us from the inside.

Vote Obama/Biden '08 NOW

Obama is not going to be an easy hate sell for them either.

They don't want the war to end. It's such a great recruiting tool
for Al-Queda.

Let's see: Palin's kicking off her weekend by testifing in yet another investigation of Troopergate.

Everyone's talking about her 150k make-over.

And her kids traveling around on tax payer money.

New poll shows 55% think she's unqualified to be potus.

Can it get any worse?

Yup. Al Q endorses McCain.

Before we celebrate, however, we have to remember that when the subject turns to Nat. Sec., John has the edge. Too many low information voters out there.
