I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Randy Scheunemann

This morning, for reasons beyond understanding, the McCain campaign is going to have a conference call, in which they will presumably turn down the endorsement of al Qaeda. They'll also probably try to run a little bit of reverse-psychology jujitsu on the reporters, gathered for what will hopefully be the Greatest Campaign Conference Call of 2008. This stratagem was advanced, briefly, in the Washington Post article on this news, which included this statement: "Some terrorism experts said the support for McCain could be mere bluster by a group that may have more to fear from a McCain presidency." Who are, "some terrorism experts?" I'm guessing McCain adviser Randy Scheunemann, who will be doing the conference call.

Chances are, Scheunemann will lament the fact that al Qaeda doesn't spend enough time listening to Joe Biden, and everyone should probably take a drink at the almost certain invocation of Bill Ayers' name. Some reporter should probably ask Scheunemann why Barack Obama doesn't inspire the necessary hatred in our enemies to wake up every morning and go to their terror training camps to jam across those monkey bars with jihadist passion. Just words? Anyway, the bottom line is that John McCain probably wishes al Qaeda would have taken the time to sit down with Sarah Palin and listen to her qualifications before rendering their judgment.

This morning, for reasons beyond understanding, the McCain campaign is going to have a conference call, in which they will presumably turn down the endorsement of al Qaeda. They'll also probably try ...

TheyMcCain staffers are saying that " The support for McCain could be mere bluster by a group that may have more to fear from a McCain presidency."

So, the Americans who support McCain are exhibiting bluster by supporting him and they should be afraid, very afraid of a McCain presidency.

That's my reading of the situation and I'm sticking to it.

Do you really not think that, like every other time the republicans get desperate, they are not trotting out Bin Laden to strengthen the only issue for which McCain is supposedly ahead - national security?

If they can change the topic from money to war, they think McCain can win.

It is very simple. Bin Laden's ultimate goal was to crush our ecomony. Thanks to W, he wasn't the sharpest knive in the drawer and played right into his hand. Now, Bin Laden see's another Bush Clone and they want to hurt us more.

VOTE OBAMA

Sorry, but it looks like it was BUSH'S plan to empty the treasury - and everything is right on schedule.

Carol is right. Why do repubes put so much stock in terrorist rhetoric. Threats we should listen to, political endorsements? Who cares what they think.

OBL has done some game theory and thought `what is the most mischevious thing I can do?'... then maybe being pro-McCain instead of more `obvious' pro-Obama was calculated.
You gotta love reverse-reverse-reverse psychology. McCain and Palin must be discussing thi snow in the GOP Cone of Silence.

McCain will simply ignore the subject of the endorsment, (him) and claim that this is all the more reason we should elect him and not Obama. He is beyond predictable at this point and I can almost hear them now, with the phony concern in their voices trying to make it sound like the world is coming to an end if McCain is not in the White House. We saw this movie already, four days before the 2004 election, Bin Laden pulled this same trick and the gullible American electorate bought into it hook, line and sinker. I do pray that enough has been revealed to the public and we have been through enough now, that we will not be so easily manipulated. I am starting to be very skeptical of these so called messages from Al Qaeda just before our elections. These things are released by our Government and I am now proned to believe that they are capable of fabricating the whole thing in order to create a security crisis, since that is the only poll McCain is doing well in these days. He needs a security crisis in order to get the voters attention and I think they may very well be creating one with this announcement.

I think you pinned the tail on the elephant. But the hawkish attitude
of McCain will let them weaken us further. It is simply not an option.

If he were going to ignore it, would he be having a conference call about it?

At any rate, He shouldn't worry, the only people left in America who still think Bin Laden is a greater threat than their own government are the rapture Republicans who'd never vote for Obama anyway.

leave it to Al Qaeda to set off the Repub spin machine. The reverse Psych idea makes no sense (not that nonsense would stop the republicans from saying it). With the exception of the Philipines and Georgia, the rest of the world is rooting for Obama. Obama in the White House is much more likely to build coalitions than McCain. That is what Al Qaeda fears most.

No, silly, he's not going to address the endorsement. They've read the tea leaves and are addressing the follow up message Al-Qaeda just posted:

..وحتى ذلك الحين ، وسنعطيك 20 الماعز لامرأة

Translation "Until then, we offer you 20 goats for the woman ..."

We have to get away from middle eastern oil and if possible completely. I am from a third world country living in US. I think America should heavily invest in alternative energy sources and export the technology to the world.
The Islamic fundamentalists are getting all the money from the bloated oil money. Getting away from oil automatically puts a halt to money spent on terrorism and world will be a better place.

Thanks. We've been saying this for years, but Bush is owned by the Saudis, so his entire administration has been a giant machine to enrich the middle east.
