Money is flowing swiftly into several key state Senate races, but it's coming from some unusual sources, thanks to an upcoming power shift.

Senate President Emil Jones, D-Chicago will retire in January, and his lameduck status has shifted some of his traditional fundraising prowess to the top candidates who want to replace him.

Both Sen. John Cullerton, D-Chicago, and Sen. James Clayborne, D-Belleville, have funneled well more than $300,000 each this fall into the campaigns of a handful of Democratic colleagues and candidates.
