John McCain is going all in on the Joe-the-plumber meme with a television ad this morning that showcases other small business owners -- all claiming to be veritable Joe the Plumbers themselves -- criticizing Barack Obama's tax policies.

"Spread the wealth?" the anchor asks.

"I'm supposed to work harder..." says one man.

"Just to pay more taxes," says another.

"Obama wants my sweat to pay for his trillion dollars in new spending?"

The spot, titled "Sweat Equity," was rumored to be in the works yesterday and it pushes an attack line that the McCain-Palin ticket has been whacking at all week: mainly, that Obama's policies are socialistic, bad for these economic times, and destined to raise taxes on small business owners. At least two of those three claims seem recognizably baseless.

But Joe the Plumber hasn't exactly worked as a campaign tool for McCain. A Suffolk University poll of Ohio and Missouri released last week found only a handful of voters in those two states said that Joe Wurzelbacher's complaints about Obama made them more likely to vote for the Republican candidate.

The ad, according to the McCain campaign, will be televised in key states.

Sarah has to pay taxes on that $150K worth of clothing, right? She might be just like Joe the Plumber if she doesn't since he refrains from paying taxes...

Sorry but I can't relate to Joe the Plumber. I pay my bills. I don't have any liens on my house and I work while not trying to get 15 mins of fame by lying on TV. How can Joe say he can't buy a plumbing busines when he's not licensed and doesn't make anywhere near $250,000? He can take that garbage to Fox News.

No, you tools, McCain wants your blood, sweat, tears, health care, and social security to further increase economic inequality.

Obama wants to give you a bigger tax cut. It doesn't make up for the fact that the American worker has NEVER been compensated for productivity gains, it doesn't make up for inflation, and it certainly doesn't make up for the fact that a CEO can make more in an hour (taking a power nap, for example) than most of us make in year. Still, it's a tax cut that the middle class absolutely needs and deserves. The rich don't WANT or NEED for anything. A health problem will not bankrupt them. They'll still be able to keep their vacation homes, extra cars, boats, expensive golf club memberships, etc.

It's sad when working class people are deceived by the spin of the rich.

So McCain keeps making this guy the center of his campaign strategy and GOP talking heads are all upset that the Dems are attacking this "private citizen who just asked a question."

Although, I think Obama misunderstood the "plumber's" original question and unwittingly created the firestorm by his answer when he should have said something like "you misunderstand my plan. You aren't talking about having a PERSONAL income of $250k, a business that size would not be hit by higher taxes, and you would benefit from my health care plan."

I can't trust anything these people are saying (sure, they're white, but that isn't enough these days) until I can verify that they are from the Real part of America
