Gone (at least for the moment) was the Bushian pronunciation of "nuclear" as "nook-you-ler." Present for the first time was a leisurely, even playful cadence that signaled Sarah Palin's inevitability on this grand stage.

Shanks' name does appear in McCain's campaign finance report.

It's reported as: "Operating Expenditures / GOTV CONSULTING."

As in "Get Out the Vote."

Chris Matthews made a very good point ..........­..........­. The McCain camp had time to go to Neiman Marcus and spend $75,000 on Palin's clothes, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND THE TIME TO PICK UP A COPY OF THE CONSTITUTION FOR HER TO READ.

McCain wants Palin to look good but he does not care that she has NO CLUE about the constitutional responsibilities of the VP.

Professor Higgins transformed Eliza Doolittle into a person who spoke proper english, who had a knowledge of the world and who dressed well ..........­..........­.. he changed the whole package.

She had a couple of days, between the time she found out she was going to be a running mate and when she appeared at the RNC, to pick up a copy of the constitution herself. I'm sure it never occurred to her that she should brush up, or learn for the first time, some basics of being a vp. That just proves how stupid and in over her head she is.

Does Joe or Joanna Six Pack use voice coaches? Do they spend $150K on clothes? Do they fly their kids all over the country? I suspect not. So why do these folks feel like they are soulmates with Sa.rah? She may let you bring her a drink or carry her shopping bags to her car - but that is about all she wants to do with you it appears.
