Gone (at least for the moment) was the Bushian pronunciation of "nuclear" as "nook-you-ler." Present for the first time was a leisurely, even playful cadence that signaled Sarah Palin's inevitability on this grand stage.

Shanks' name does appear in McCain's campaign finance report.

It's reported as: "Operating Expenditures / GOTV CONSULTING."

As in "Get Out the Vote."

Let me get this straight. She has time to improve her voice her look with a new very expensive wardrobe, her hair style and make-up, her stage presence but doesn't have time to read a magazine or a newspaper or even a position paper from the candidate with whom she shares a ticket and the party with which she shares a platform. How government works confuses her, hence her thinking the vice president is in charge of the Senate, or that it does not exist for her to settle her personal vendettas.

No argument in the world can be made to me to convince me that she should have been elected governor of a state and by no stretch of the imagination vice president or , God forbid, president of anything.

Let's not forget that she has spent thousands of taxpayer dollars to have her kids travel unnecessarily around with her and has lied about it; meanwhile you don't see Biden's kids with him everywhere he goes. The get-the-sy­mpathy-vot­e-by-bring­ing-my-kid­s-everywhe­re-I-go-ro­utine only lasts but so long. I was surprised they weren't on SNL with her. Although if she could have found a way to write it off, they probably would have been.

This is just one more thing on the laundry list of reasons not to let this woman in the white house. And after reading through the posts - if anyone is mistaken in thinking that the campaign is paying for it; guess again. America is paying for it. I feel sorry for the people of Alaska. Their taxes must be through the roof trying to pay for her!!!!!!

Her and McCain need to get off the presidential bus. At this point in time it has nothing to do with who can do what for the country, but more with whether or not we need a president & VP who can't stop lying, cheating and stretching the system for their own purposes running the country.

With all of the talking points, smears, and lies she had to learn, coupled with monitoring her own performance of her own voice, it's no wonder she couldn't name a Supreme Court case or a newspaper.
