Obama

At least two people have quit their jobs at call centers over scripts that accuse Barack Obama of working closely with Bill Ayers. The Charleston Gazette reports on a woman in West Virginia:

Chaylee Cole, a student at Fairmont State University, lost her part-time job in Weston last Friday after refusing to make telephone calls attacking Barack Obama.

McCain-Palin 2008 and the Republican National Committee were paying for the calls, according to a "work paper" handed to Cole and her co-workers at the Weston offices of 1.2.1 Direct Response, a company based in Philadelphia.

"I was working at the call center," Cole said. "We got a campaign ad talking about how Obama had been part of terrorist attacks on the Capitol, the Pentagon and a judge's home and had ties with Bill Ayers.

"Last Thursday, I told them I did not want to read it," Cole said. "They said, 'Either you read it or you go home.'

"I told them I wasn't going to read it. They made me go home without pay for the rest of the day."

...

"I talked to one of our 'coaches,' which is what our supervisors were called. I said I was unhappy with the situation and I quit," she said Tuesday.

And WKOW finds a man in Wisconsin:

Voters in more than 13 states, including Wisconsin are getting calls from people accusing Barack Obama of having ties to terrorists. Some of those calls are made from right here in Madison.

A local man made dozens of calls bashing Barack Obama, but when the campaign got ugly, he quit his job.

...

Zoromski said, "This was different than I was told I was going to be saying, and [Sitel] said the script changes on a daily basis."

So Zoromski quit, fed up with what he perceived as scare tactics.

It's because there are so many things to attack. But all of them pale in comparison to his plans of welth redistribution. I'm not rich. I don't make 250K a year. But I sure as heck don't think that someone who does should have to pay a higher rate than me. I see it as nothing but pandering. How can you give 95% of the population a tax cut, when only 45% of us even pay taxes? He plans on giving "rebates" to those who don't even pay in. I guess everyone sees him as Robin Hood. He will steal from the rich to give to the poor. Let me tell you something, A guy living in NYC with 4 kids making $250K a year aint rich. But B.H.O. is gonna steal from him to give me his money. No thanks. I can't be bought. I refuse to be a wh_re to Obama, just because he promises me a sugar teett.

That's going to be my mantra "Just say no to Obama's sugar teett!"

Please explain to me, when Palin takes cash from oil company profits for a handout to alaskans, how is that not "redistribution of wealth"?

And when McCain takes my tax dollars and gives it to my neighbor who's not paying his mortgage, and the bank that made that bad loan, how is that not redistribution of wealth?

When McCain gives a $5000 rebate for insurance, even to people not paying that much in taxes, why are you OK with that?

And Obama is not giving 95% of everyone a tax cut, it's 95% of WORKING people.

I'm looking forward to hearing your answers.

How clueless are you? Do you guys just listen for key words or truly try to understand what is being propose. I know after 8 years of Bush the country is really dumbed down by some guy the Republicans wanted to have a beer with. Its time prople start paying their fair share. You have two wars going on right now so how do you plan to pay for? I know on way to save 120 billion dollars right now pull out of Iraq that would pay for the tax cuts proposed by Obama. This country is headed toward a depression and if the economy doesn't get going we will be through.

They pay LESS (not a lesser percentage, actually LESS) than you under Bush's tax cuts, which are what McCain wants to make permanent.

Actually its because of lack of a real plan. If you and I were running for office and my only attack on you came after I saw a "gaffe" I would be perceived as unprepared. This article is about the GOP and the validity of information sent out to potential voters. The GOP campaign is an ever changing one built on ignorance and are "throwing things on the wall to see what sticks" as quoted by Bay Buchanan. Lets look past the smoke and mirrors and to the real issues. Obama's plan is for a tax cut to 95% of WORKING people with a $500 dollar cut for one and $1000 cut for families. I am not sure where the "rebate check" came from but it is clearly not a part of his plan http://www.barackobama.com/taxes/. In response to the people make over 250k the increase is like 3% so the guy in NYC will not pay the 50% tax that some people are reporting. I don't think any money should be taken from the rich and given to the poor, but at the same time I think the more you make the more you should pay in tax. If that is socialism then why does the income tax which is currently in place do the exact same thing?

I think I read that today's attack is he eats puppies and kids for breakfast and he hates colored people because he is hiding in a cave in Afghanistan and it's his clone campaigning. Oh, also that Ayers and Wright are the same person and he's (insert religion that you want to bash) and dropped a pyramid on the pentagon. Or something like that.

Obama/Biden 2008 - the BRAINS we need!!!

I applaud these two for standing up to the McCain/Palin campaign and quiting their call jobs because it was the right thing to do. These two showed the kind of integrity and honor that ought to be the number one thing of McCain's campaign. Sadly, it is not. My hope is that more and more Americans are starting to see the real truth behind his campaign, and will change their minds about who they vote for.
VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN !!!!!

Do you belong to the army of Patriotic Americans who are fighting to help get Obama elected and to save our democracy? Then we need to gather our energies and fight voter fraud -- it is the only way McCain can get this election.

My advice? Check to see if you are registered corrently NOW and what ID your state requires so you wont lose your vote when you get there.

Robert Kennedy,Jr.recommends these two sites to all voters.

it is suggested that people vote early and in person for the best hope your vote will be counted. I voted early over the weekend. It was quick and easy and because it was at the 'votemobile" and not in my precinct, I had to show a picture ID with my address on it.

Check with your local County Clerk to see if there is a "votemobile" in your county and get a schedule. I got one from my local Democratic headquarters.

This may be a great option for college students who may not be in their home voting precinct on voting day and don't want to do a mail in ballot due to the possibility of voter fraud. But I'm not sure if you have to go to a votemobile in your county or not. Maybe someone knows the answer to this question.

Chaylee and Mr. Zoromski, congratulations for standing up and against divisive hate. This country is falling apart, it's people are being divided with the help of the McCain/Palin ticket. WE can not afford this! We need to bring this country together and I give you my thanks for lending a helping hand in that direction.

You have to sell your soul in those outbound call centers.

A good buddy of mine had a job selling books to kids' parents. One day he got a series of black lead cards, and upon making the first few calls he discovered that these were the names of DEAD KIDS. He quit his job that instant.

In spite of the constant attacks against them by the Republicans in recent years, the old fashion ed American values still survive. No thanks to John McCain -- or that incompetent her chosde for his running mate. No thanks to the regime he has so loyally supported. No thanks to the Fox minded media. No thanks to Roviaqn 'wisdom' or NEOCON policies.
Those of us who still care for America -- and real Americann values -- salute Ms Cole, Mr. Zoropmski, and all others like them who care more for country than for personal gain.
John McCain could take lessons from them, but I forgot his demonstration at the Academy (class rank 894 out of 899 and record number of demerits ever) that he lacks the descipline, character and ability to learn such things.

Hats off to these people of principles. Those had to be hard choices to make considering the state of the economy and lack of jobs right now. I wish them Good Luck and Success in finding new jobs that are 100% better than the ones they quit.

What no one has pressed the McCain campaign on is the fact that they are accusing a sitting US Senator of being a terrorist, which is in effect, TREASON. I cannot remember any campaign in my lifetime where accusations of this gravity were banted about so casually by the other side. Of couse it speaks volumes about the absolute desparation that McCain's campaign is experiencing, and they're attempt to grasp at anything to reverse the Sarah Palin iceberg McCain has steered his campaign into, but it's only working on the already indoctrinated republicans. No one else is buying it.

You are so right. These "terriorist" LIES are despicable, and don't the neo-con Repubs realize that they are endangering the life of Sen. Obama and his family. Shame on the McCain campaign.
If Sen. Obam were to lose this election, he's better get a round-the-clock security detail. ONly in America. I am shocked that the news media have not pointed out the gravity of the Republicans making such dangerous arguments against a sitting Senator.

McCain, a man who formerly clothed himself in the flag, braying the word honor from the 4 corners of his mouth has disintegrated into a caricature, worthy of loathing. This will be his legacy, I hope he is proud of it.
