Blue Line Shutdown

Blue Line Shutdown

CTA Blue Line service will be temporarily shut down this weekend between the Belmont and Montrose stations while workers conduct rail repairs, the Chicago Transit Authority announced this morning.

Workers will be replacing deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes, suspending rail service between those two stations from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Monday.

Shuttle buses will operate as a substitute for rail service, stopping at the Belmont, Addison, Irving Park and Montrose stations, the CTA said.
