On Wednesday's "The View" cohosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar sparred over politics and it got uglier than usual. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg was out sick and unable to intervene, but she defended them Thursday.

Wednesday Elisabeth defended a McCain shirt she wore Tuesday, said she contemplated voting for Obama and told Joy to drink more "Barack Obama Kool Aid" after Joy called Rush Limbaugh a terrorist.

Thursday morning Whoopi was promoting her children's book on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and was asked about the stories of feuds. She downplayed such talk, and explained that women fight differently, "It's never personal." You decide, both clips are below

0bama Kool-Aid? Yes, that's right, Elizabeth. Anybody who supports this man must be an irrational cult member. That's the insult that she's delivering to her co-hosts and to the majority of American voters.

Every once in a while, the mask of respectability slips, and you see how debased Hasselbeck's thinking and tactics truly are. She should be sharing a show with Ann Coulter on Fox.

The View should not promote this divisive culture war that Elizabeth is advocating

Okay....Elizabeth is annoying, I'm definitely not going to deny that.

BUT....Joy can be equally as abraisive. She's able to articulate her point more artfully, nevertheless, her tunnel vision and passion for the Democratic party is equally as voracious as Elizabeth's passion for the GOP.

Of all the regular co-hosts, I'd have to say that Joy is my least favorite. Joy's name is an odd misnomer, as she never has anything particularly positive to say about anything. She has this wildly unattractive way of being passive-aggressive with anyone, anytime.

How nice of Elizabeth to offer Joy some of HER KoolAid! Who's drinking the kool aid now? Ha Ha Ha ha!

Barbara-
Elisabeth is rude, crude and trying to make some kind of name for herself. I've stopped watching.
Elisabeth wants a job at FOX. Please, let her go.

As mentioned before, it would be okay to have an intelligent conversation if Elisabeth would actually bring something to the table other than the Republican "garbage of the day". If she brings her own opinion, that would be okay, but what she does is very dangerous. She is allowed to spew garbage that has no factual basis and present it as such. I believe she needs to be eventually tossed from the show due to that total disregard for her responsibility. The show has allowed her to walk this line and I am offended at how stupid they think I am as a viewer. I refuse to watch the show while she is still on it.

Why are we even talking about these morons? Why is anybody talking about these morons?

Joy And Elisabeth Spar... Correct me if I'm wrong, but sparring would require both parties to have mouths and brains, yes? As this pair has between them two mouths and only one brain, Joy's, would this not be more appropriately titled, 'Joy Gets Upset With Talking Wall'?

My complaint exactly. It is called THE VIEW so each person can articulate her own view. Elizabeth doesn't have one. She spits out talking points like an automated robot. No view there.
Joy has a comprehensive view.

i am so sick of the koolaid comment i cant stand it. i find it very demeaning to suggest that people arent able to think for themselves and simply see the kind of level headed, kind hearted, good man that he is, and good leader he will be.

Whoopi is in denial-- she says they only fought the one year Rosie was on -- but she doesn't want to acknowledge all the bad blood when Star was there. these ladies do not like each other, and it shows. so what?!

I still cannot for the life of me figure out how Hasselback's 15 minutes of fame as 4th runner up on Survivor ever got her to where she is today. And nothing she has done since has answered the question. What a waste of a female mind and airspace.

They really need to get rid of Hasselbeck. She is just too stupid for me to watch anymore, and if you agree, email ABC and tell them so. I did.

Hassleback spoke of Obama koolaid, but the poor thing does not realize that she has drunk the George Bush koolaid for so long, she still thinks that perhaps his great policies, would be wonderful, if McCain gets to the WH. Obviously she is not a deep thinker. She is great at spewing Hannity's talking points, without much thought. She sounds so naive, and ignorant, when she keeps trying to convince the nation that McCain and Palin are the best thing for the country, even though their policies will be not much different to her first hero, Bush.

Pls note: Hassleback says she does not want to say anything negative about Bush now, because she respects the President's office, so let's see how long before Hassleback will be attacking President Obama, with right wing talking points.

I strongly disagree. Hasselback does not drink the Kool-Aid, she ingests the ideology intravenously.

I have never liked EH, way before this election year. She has always been snobby and holier than thou. This year has really brought out her true self. I can't see how the View made the mistake of selecting her to replace Lisa Ling. EH must have been really "pretending" when she interviewed for this job, I'd say the ladies on the View got snowed.

I've got some conservative republican friends. Their views are kind of narrow and a bit selfish but not like EH who seems obsessed, a robot. I don't know if she believes in her party so much as she just wants to be right. I wonder if her parents like her. Glad she is not a child of mine.

Maybe EH was wink winking. You betcha.

Liz's association with Hannity, Limbaugh, and the other right wing nutwings has rendered her intellectually bankrupt. She needs our sympathy.

Elisableech is a necessary evil on The View. I think they do a good job of showing all kinds of opinions on that show. I agree with Joy and Whoppi most of the time but Liz speaks for far right dingbats that deserve to be heard too. Without her they'd be no headlines or conflict.

Except when the ladies ask the tough questions no one else is asking.

PEOPLE....peachesmahoney is dead on!!!!! We need people like EH to remind us of that 33.3% of the population that thinks just like her!!! Ask John Murtha!!!!!!!

They need a conservative, but one that can expand a thought. Elisabeth goes out with a list from Hannity but obviously doesn't have any depth of facts or opinions, because she just repeats the same things over and over, refuses to listen to anyone else, and won't stop talking until she gets her way. I find her offensive not because her views differ with mine, but because she is programmed and acts like she is twelve, pouting when she doesn't get the last word. They need an intelligent conservative on there that reads and has reasons for her opinions.

Right. But couldn't we have someone who was thoughtful and represented an intelligent, critical version of the Republican ideology? She makes me want to pull my hair out.
