Joy And Elisabeth Spar, Whoopi Denies Feud (VIDEO)

On Wednesday's "The View" cohosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar sparred over politics and it got uglier than usual. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg was out sick and unable to intervene, but she defended them Thursday.

Wednesday Elisabeth defended a McCain shirt she wore Tuesday, said she contemplated voting for Obama and told Joy to drink more "Barack Obama Kool Aid" after Joy called Rush Limbaugh a terrorist.

Thursday morning Whoopi was promoting her children's book on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and was asked about the stories of feuds. She downplayed such talk, and explained that women fight differently, "It's never personal." You decide, both clips are below

To the view: Fire Joy Behar! I quit watching due to her ugly nature, yet I still see her face on AOL, and all over the internet! She doesn't even have to open her rude mouth, its in her body language.
Now, I enjoy listening to Whoopies opinions, even though I do not agree with them.
The view is not representative of the American public, but of the Entertainment industry. Four liberals against one conservative?

Seriously, 4-1 is an accurate representation of Americans' opinions on issues, whether they identify themselves as liberal or not. When polled on issues, Americans tend to agree with liberal positions at about that ratio. The reason you don't see it in government is that only half of those who are eligible to vote do vote, mainly because of apathy and discouragement that their vote doesn't count, so why bother?

Many people may say that they're conservatives, but in their practice of life, they live as liberals. Look at Sarah Palin and the people who support her. She has governed as a mayor and as a governor like the socialist she says she deplores. Alaska is a socialist welfare state, its citizens not only getting checks from oil companies for Alaska's shared resource, oil, but also because of federal government pork. Alaska gets $1.77 back from $1.00 put in to the federal kitty by way of earmarks.

Whoppi is lying thru her teeth. over time this mess becomes personal. when lizzy bucked walters on the air about that shirt, you know after the show that was an issue. the other producer is a republican but it's walters show. she better chill although i still think she's contracted to fox and is leaving after the election.

The View co-hosts are constantly apologizing the day after for spirited and overheated debate which, sometimes does get personal. Why apologize for this...rea­l debates can get personal when it comes to religion or politics. Why do Barbara and Bill Geddes "legislate" day-after apologies. It's such a girl thing!
P.S. Whoopi is such a company girl promoting the show on Barb's behalf - a tad nauseating.

Joy is wonderfully funny, and Elizabeth is fine and funny too. Whoopi is a doll and yes, a peacemaker.

Maybe I am naive, but I think all of the women of The View do really like and respect each other.

Joy was just hilarious yesterday, in great form. We absolutely need Joy to challenge the pretensions of the great all-knowing Rush Limbaugh every now and then with a shout-out from a very observant, brainy, down-to-earth, real and funny lady. Hah! Joy, You Go Girl!

It just seems that more and more, Elizabeth doesn't really have anything to add to the conversation, until the political stuff comes up, then look out... here come the repub talking points. Whereas, Joy, Cherie, and Whoopi carry on the rest of the conversati­ons.... otherwise it seems that Elizabeth's input is so strained.

I say they get rid of both Joy and Lizzie. Keep Sherri as she represents the view of the air-heads. But Joy is always crabby and Lizzie is just a mouthpiece for Bill Geddes. Palin just asked Lizzie to attend an event this upcoming week-end. How desperate do you have to be to ask her? And how many people declined the offer before they got the her on the list?

My wish for The View, which I have enjoyed watching sporadically over the years, is that they would bring in a conservative who is able to discuss the issues with some intelligence and without the hysterics. Peggy Noonan comes immediately to my mind, though she may lack too much of the hysterics required to make for compelling TV. Nonetheless, Miss Hasselbeck is the reason I turn off The View by the first commercial break most days, her screaming and volume are bad enough, but instead of having her own VIEW she parrots back talking points that someone else has said, and she never proclaims why she is supporting the conservative viewpoint, instead only volleying back questions that deflect from the topic at hand to distract from her own lack of individual deep thoughts about these matters. Please, Barbara Walters, replace her with someone who has a brain!!!!!!

I completely agree. E.D. Hill from Fox News filled in for Elisabeth a couple of weeks ago and she was great. I didn't think there were any Republicans who could argue the points and not just attack the Dems or scream. I thought she did a good job and was intelligent about it. BTW, it's Elisabeth who drinks the RNC kool-aid and must receive their talking points every day.

I agree that Elisabeth needs to be more informed when she defends certain Republican positions. She does tend to echo the talking points of the day. While I too enjoyed E.D. Hill on the View, I think Elisabeth ads a great deal to the general feel of the show, except when she and Joy get into these personal attacks of course. I think the show would benefit from having a more balanced panel, and i woudl love to see Elisabeth and E.D. on the panel. E.D. could take Sherri's place, as she adds little to the discussions.

Joy can be very funny, but when she is "on one" she gets vicious. She called Limbaugh a terrorist. He is an idiot, he is nutty, but a terrorist? Come on. She flat out called Elisabeth a liar, and then her "clean up" was to call her dilusional. She spits out very personal attacks against anyone she disagrees with. She repeats democratic talking points that she knows are not true. For example, Joy continues to say that people yell Kill Him at Palin Rallys. The Secret Service has said this is patently untrue. Barbara pointed this out on the View. Yet, Joy still throws it in to discredit Palin. I really hate when people knowingly spew untrue stuff just to make their point. Joy is a slightly funnier version of Ann Coulter, and both of them need to be quiet..

That's an easily answered question. Mrs. Hasselback supports the conservative view point because her husband makes millions of dollars a year. She feels like they shouldn't have to pay a higher taxes rate. She feels that somehow they are more "special" and "deserving" of the money they make. That she and her husband have are deserving of all their blessing and that no one has every helped them achieve their monetary success. She feels that if every person simply works hard that they too could be rich, which is why a lot of Americans get duped into supporting a conservative ideology. It's those damn social programs that keep them for being millionaires.

As for the way women fight, I disagree with Whoopi, everything is personal, the only difference is Joy is active aggressive not passive. I believe this comes directly from Joy's righteous indignation that the drivel Elizabeth spews is allowed on the same playing field as the facts.
