Lindsay Lohan Cut From "Ugly Betty": Reports Of Fights, Pranks And Attitude

Lindsay Lohan has had her guest gig on "Ugly Betty" cut from six to four episodes after reportedly clashing with show star America Ferrera and having general attitude issues. Lohan's character went from being Betty's high school nemesis to the present-day boss of Betty's dad at a burger restaurant. The NY Post reports:

One production source said, "It was a mess. Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to repaint her dressing room it was such a mess."

In addition, Lohan "would obsessively cut pictures of herself out of the tabloids like she was creating some sort of scrapbook and refused to go on set until America was there - it was a power play."

One episode, titled "Granny Pants," was about how Lohan, playing Betty's high school nemesis, would "de-pants" Ferrera. But Ferrera exacts her revenge and pulls down Lohan's pants instead. "Lindsay wasn't wearing any underwear," the source said.

But a Lohan pal fumed, "Bull [bleep]! Lindsay wears underwear all the time now. She was wearing a G-string. And it was America's fault. They were rehearsing the scene and America wasn't supposed to pull Lindsay's pants down - but she did. Lindsay was so embarrassed, she started crying."

As for the dressing room, Lohan's pal said it was also used by the cast of the Fox sci-fi thriller "Fringe." "So maybe they messed it up. And an entourage? Yeah, she had her sober companion with her, as well as her manager, assistant and [girlfriend] Samantha Ronson. Her publicist was there a couple of times. But so what?"

The pal blames Ferrera for any issues, saying, "America was mean to Lindsay. Producers give her too much power. Lindsay didn't do the last two episodes because America didn't like her and got her kicked off."

Ferrera's rep would only say, "America is grateful to have had her on the show and thinks everyone should tune in to see how great the episodes are."

Lohan's rep said, "Lindsay was scheduled for six episodes and is appearing in four but had a lovely time."

Lohan and girlfriend Sam are far from "Ugly Betty" and are currently in Tokyo, as photographed yesterday (scroll down) at Sam's sister's fashion show.

Poor little studio having to repainting a room. Give me a break on that one.

It wouldn't surprise me if both were at fault. Lindsay has had her problems, but I've watched America on Larry King when she was supporting Hillary. She was on with a couple of celebrities who were supporting Obama. She pouted and looked almost angry whenever they spoke. She wasn't all that well-versed on issues either. I lost a little of my love for the show after a couple of appearances like that.

She is no more a lesbian than Annie Heche was. She is in the same area as Hilton, Richie, Spears etc. Meaning they have no real talent and they're addicted to fame so they'll do absolutely anything in their power to keep it. And if that means reinventing yourself as gay then so be it.

Thats why you don't see Charlize Theron, Nat. Portman, Scarlett Johanson courting the paps every day. They go on their work and when you don't have substance like that to go on you do things you normally wouldn't do. i.e. Lohan, Paris, Nicole Richie, Britney Spears et al.

I saw the show last night, and frankly found her acting mediocre, I got bored for some reason and switched stations.

Her history precedes her, she was known as a party girl during movies made 4 years ago, and even Jane Fonda implied the girl's got problems of her own making. Talent doesn't trump common sense.

Any on-set trouble can be excused if you eventually get a good performance out of your actress (M. Monroe opposite Clark Gable comes to mind), but what little I saw of Lohan on the show (while channel surfing )she seemed to be giving a remarkably pedestrian performance. Half of the inside joke watching Ugly Betty is how the characters all 'sparkle' a bit too enthusiastically. Lohan wasn't exactly sparkling.

In my experience, most recovering addicts do seem to smoke. A LOT. So if you're hiring someone you KNOW is a recovering addict, then you sound pretty lame to be shocked by their smoking.

And it's pretty insensitive to go after someone struggling with addiction for bringing a sober companion along to a job in a profession where it's normal to be offered drugs and alcohol both during and after work.

If smoking and sober companions make the Ugly Betty people THAT upset, then they'd better not hire any more recovering addicts in the future.
