NEW YORK — Scott McClellan, President Bush's former press secretary, says he is backing Barack Obama for president.

McClellan made the endorsement during a taping of Comedian D.L. Hughley's new show that is premiering on CNN this weekend. The former Bush administration official said he wanted to support the candidate that has the best chance for changing the way Washington works and getting things done.

He's the second former Bush administration figure this week to publicly back Obama, following former Secretary of State Colin Powell. McClellan caused bitterness among his former co-workers with a tell-all book that criticized Bush.

as the white house mouth you repeatedly spun the truth to hide the facts....Perino is doing the same thing now....it is good to see you coming clean but surrogates who support bad policy and bad politicians deserve a special place in ....yeah you know where

Well, I guess you can say there's redemption for everyone. I think the worst ones are those who never admit they made a mistake, and defend the indefensible. I can forgive McClellan.

I think People need to get off of the race issue. It is only an issue when People have too much time on

their hands. When something happens on a national level like 9/11, People who are injured do not

care what color or race someone is. Wake up America...It's 2008!

This may be the perfect definition of "mixed emotions."

A lying sack of Republican crap endorses Obama.

Damn!

Well he's making a boatload of money so he can't be all that wrong. As long as there are enough suckers who listen to his vile rhetoric to support their own mindset he's golden. It's the same reason why we don't hang out on billoreilly.com.
An Obama win will probably give him a boost. "The sky is falling, the socialists are coming for you now. Build a shelter, hide your kids and buy more guns!!!"

Here are your lifelines, Rush.
Why, McClellan is in fact black, he just wears makeup all the time!
Or maybe he's part black, just so little that it doesn't show?
Or maybe he's adopted and has/had black parents?
Come on, there are so many possibilities, it must be race!
No... I got it. McClellan is white, but has been indoctrinated or hypnotized by a black witch doctor. So his mind is in fact black.

Seriously, do you all think that some Republicans are capable of seeing the horror their party has perpetrated on this country? I mean, not the true sociopaths, Machiavellians and narcissists, but the average Jills (sorry, tired of using Joe for obvious reasons) who have been duped these many years into voting against their best interests.

No. I just returned from a hockey game. Walking down the isle, I could not help hearing; "they get what they deserve if they vote for a socialist". No, the average Republican does not have a clue.

It is good to see increasing numbers of Republicans having twinges of conscience for the horrible messes they've made. Or maybe some of them are just rats jumping from a sinking ship. I like to think the former...

Scott's mother Carol Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn was a active Democrat till the mid 80's when being a Democrat in Texas was an asset not a liability. Then the tide turned. She ran as a Republican and became the state comptroller and was pretty darn good until Bush's successor Rick Perry and she butted heads. She ran against him in the 2006 Texas Governors race and lost.

I doubt Scotty has love for the Dems I just think he wants some justice for being used as he was by Bush and Cheney.

I am waiting for the Condoleeza Rice book. If she has any modicum respect left after working in that setting she will reveal the real truth.

Boy, never has it been so painfully obvious that the culture in Washington has to change. A McCain/Palin administration will truly be a continuation of the status quo and a nightmare for us all.

I am really stunned by this...really...NOT!

Condi is as much a shill as Colin is...except Colin feels he has to save his a-- by boarding the sheeple train...Condi is a true Repub in that she will go down with the ship...not surprising.

a "true" republican never questions...they just do what they are told.

how is that not like being a passenger on the "sheeple" train?

at least Powell had enough integrity to resign after the first 4 years.....She hasn't gotten much done in her time as secretary of state....that is what you get when you just run on blind ambition...and promote your own goals and aspirations why the country pays the price....what would be different now if the Bush inner circle would have fought for our country instead of rolling over for Bush's failed agenda...

Remember when McClellan was press secretary the Republican loved him for doing such a good job of lying for them. Then when they started telling the truth they turned on him and started lying about him. Same thing with Powell. Do I detect a pattern here?

I wonder how many other people from Bush's camp feel the same way but are afraid to say anything. Have you noticed how many of them haven't said anything? Or purposely go out of their way to avoid any sort of direct endorsement of McCain? Notice how Condi just skirts the issue whenever it comes up?

Now is a good time to stand up and be on the right side of history.

Oh please...Powell knew damn well he was being served a bunch of lies as did McClellan or Condi...who do you think your kidding?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:24 AM on 10/24/2008

wrong. maybe if you read about powell's speech to the UN you would know you have george tenet on one side and rumsfeld on the other, and he agreed to do the speech only after having both of them there next to him to bolster the argument.

oh and ps, cheney's office re-wrote his speech the day of him delivering it. powell was kept absolutely clueless by those who have dragged our country into the mud.

They always personally attack anyone who is disloyal. They repeat this pattern over and over. Oh, and any wrong-doing on their watch is the result of a 'rogue agent', never policy. Which means they all signed off on it, then destroyed the memos.

But Scott's endorsement is not too valuable, since he himself admitted lying for them repeatedly--not that he knew at the time he was lying. We all knew it but he didn't, apparently.

So this is not so impressive.

There was something about McClellan's demeanor that I picked up during the last part of his position at the white house where he would look down when he would answer questions that made me think that he wasn't appreciating all the lying he had to do.

Next thing we will hear is that maybe Ann Coulter is endorsing Obama, now that would be rich, but I won't hold my breath. Is there any hope for that dim-wit Elizabeth Hasselbeck who I've heard is going to campaign with Appalling Palin?

too little too late. up his.

mcclellan has enough on this administration to send them all to prison. he carried water and helped the bush administration do the damage they've done.

screw scott mcclellan and his endorsement. we don't need him.

Give Scott a chance to redeem himself with a Democratic Attorney General in place in January. Indictments would follow and many Bushies could end up facing prison time. Scott can get even then.

Hope you are right... But I don't see him being that disloyal to Bush!

He could've done ALOT more to expose these guys in his book but chose not to. I think his conscience wanted to do something (and make some $$$ in the process), but in the end, he still feels too much loyalty to Bush (if not the others).

At least, that's what I think, but I REALLY hope you are right!!!

We cannot afford to take a cavalier attitude towards people like Powell and McClelland endorsing Obama. In order to unite this nation, we need everyone to take a step towards one another and reach out beyond our ranks of believers. if not, we will fall into the same self righteous doctrinaire attitude of right wing zealots.

Remember that Brain Williams interview with McCain/Palin when Palin quotes the wrong number of endorsements McCain has got? She says 4 and McCain almost blows a gasket and says "5!!! I have 5 endorsements!!" Yeah, 5 endorsements from has been secretary of states. Ooooh- that'll sway my vote-not!!!

Obama/Biden08-MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!

What is WRONG with you race card players? Get a GRIP!
There is nothing wrong in Colin endorsing Obama based on racial pride...none at all...
It's called identity poltics...ever heard of it?
The Irish voted for Irish
Italians for Italians
Jews for Jews...

It has been a mainstay of American politics ever since the first big wave of immigrants came to America...nothing novel, nothing sinister, nothing evil in choosing stand by your own...

Just be HONEST about it, and don't hand us a crock of sh--t like Colin did.
