NEW YORK — Scott McClellan, President Bush's former press secretary, says he is backing Barack Obama for president.

McClellan made the endorsement during a taping of Comedian D.L. Hughley's new show that is premiering on CNN this weekend. The former Bush administration official said he wanted to support the candidate that has the best chance for changing the way Washington works and getting things done.

He's the second former Bush administration figure this week to publicly back Obama, following former Secretary of State Colin Powell. McClellan caused bitterness among his former co-workers with a tell-all book that criticized Bush.

I have long suspected there were many who knew of the wrongdoings going on in the white house, but were either threatened, paid off for thier silence, elevated to higher positions, sent to foreign countries never to return again. Several people were rumored to have contacted various people asking how to leak information of the going's on without thier identities being revealed. It was clear, they were very frightened at the time they made these contacts. The information they held was significant, had to do with thepentagon, and the shananigans going on with the troops. Further, it was revealed, those whom got contacted reccomended several things to them as to how to avoid thier privacy becoming an issue. They had several options, to write a tell all using a ghost writer, sending their info to the New York Times annonymously, or three, to submit it to a director in LA willing to make a film of it, loosely basing the info on the actual events as they took place. Ask me how I know? I was one of the people they contacted about this. Seriously. I promised them I would not give up thier names, nor email identities. I am holding on to that promise. Once Bush et all are out, I hope they will have the courage to come forward and do the mother of all tell alls.

I hope these people who are endorsing Obama aren't just doing it to save their own skins or to become part of America when in fact they supported what led to this with lies right to our faces:

Of COURSE they are. They want to position themselves in the best possible way for a likely (cross your fingers) Obama victory.

I'm going to give Scotty the benefit of the doubt on this one. He's clearly been doing his penance for the past several months. Besides, he was merely the spokesman for Pandemonium. The fact that he resigned, as opposed to having been fired, meaning his book and media campaigns most likely aren't out of spite, but rather, a guilty conscience.

What better network to make your announcement on than CNN Scott?
They'll try to spin the daylights out of it but who cares. They have already done the character assasinations on you when your book came out.

How many Dem's have come out for McCain? Lady DeRothschild or whatever her name is? That's it.

All of the rats that fled the bad ship Bush/Cheney are turning on them as fast as they can. The trials should be really interesting, as all who left have written tell alls. Now that they are endorsing Obamma, suffice it to say Biden will get his wish, that is to hold hearings of treason against Bush/Cheney for crimes against hummanity, his own people and war crimes. With Obamma running the country, and Biden holding court over the trials, that leaves a few people up for the supreme court seats that barack will have vacated. His new appointees will take great delight in making sure Bush/Cheney share a jail cell with Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld, and his little pets. Paybacks are a bitch aren't they? Scott, and all who had the guts to come out against this administration? BRAVO.

See, this just shows that even the own Bush admin is slowly turning against John McCain... they know that John McCain is four more years of the incompetence that Bush and his Master Palpatine Cheney have wreaked on the world.

If only Tony Snow were alive, I bet he'd be next in line to endorse Barack Obama, I guess these ex Bush aides got tired of being used and wanted to back someone that could actually lead...

At least John McCain got Al Qaida and Tom Brokejaw to back him, woo-hoo! :D

Are we sure that Bush and Palin aren't related??????????
Both are dumber than a doorknob and just as delusional as a dehydrated c0ked up drunk stuck in the middle of the dessert in 120 degree weather with no water in site in the middle of the summer.
I've forgotten how stupid he was until now. What a joke!!!!
My G0D, help us.

No, Palin is worse than Bush, at least Bush can think when he wants to and has more brains than Palin.

If it was down to W and Palin, I'd take Mr Rumors on the internets over Miss Mooselips who doesnt know what a VP does.

I concede my point..... ;-)

Palin does have an edge in that both departments.

But can I choose neither? I can't stand either one.

There are two or three distinct possibilities to explain why all these "conservatives" are endorsing Obama. 1) They REALLY hate McCain that much. 2) There is actually a sea change going on out there driving moderate economic conservatives away from the wingnut-dominated Republican party 3) They want to make sure a Democrat is in office over the next 4 years so he will get blamed for the coming economic collapse, and making him a one-term president.

Wouldn't it be shocking and hilarious, if Rush Limbaugh,Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly threw their hands up in the air and stated..."Since we can't beat him, might as well join them..We're supporting Obama"...In the background,Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin are singing "Cry me a river ".

I believe that this country is more center right then far... far right or left. That is the reason I believe that so many real Republicans are jumping ship. These Republicans may not agree on all Obama policies but they want a UNITED country. McCain has made a major mistake. In this day in time Americans have to much technology to fall for dirty tricks or bad information. I listen to Susan Eisenhower on Larry King and she prove that real Republican want more of a compromise. As an Independent that what we want COMPROSIME. I also believe that Obama-Biden are the only ones to bring that to are nation.

My Opinion...

At least his lies did not result in 4000 + dead soldiers and 700,000 + dead Iraqis like Powell's did.

Uhhhhh and who told Gen. Powell such info and lied to Gen. Powell and worked behind Powell's back. And when Gen. Powell found out he was being used as a tool, he resigned.

Try again!!!!!

You are just as delusional as bush

Sad, Very sad.

CIH8U2, surely you jest. He resigned? You mean he found out and waited until 2005 after the election to resign? Please, you are being naive like Republicans that believe excuses from Reagan and Bush not knowing about the Iran-Contra affair and how Col. North ran his own secret government behind their backs.

How the man sleeps at night with that much blood on his hands I'll never know. But Bush and Cheney seem to do it well so maybe they let him in on the secret.

Beg your pardon, but Powell was lied to by th source of the lies, Bush and Cheney. Those p unks coldly and calculatedly lied to Powell to p imp his credibility in order to start the war they wanted all along. They used his good name not only to sell the war to the American people, they knew if the war failed in any way, any hopes that Powell, who had excellent credentials and presidential potential, would be dashed. These boys would make Machiavelli blush.

Now all the pomp and bombastic flourishes of their failed regime is in tatters, as well it should be. The war has become a quagmire, the economy, based on lies and greed fueled by REpub-advocated deregulation, has melted down, the beloeved and revered GOP is imploding, and frankly the world will be a better place because of it. Don't blame the messenger, put the blame and the accountability at the feet of the ones who started it all. Lay off Powell and lay it on Bush. Remember, the buck stops with the head.

No, I will not. Powell went to the CIA personally 3 times to try to get verification for 'hardball' but did not. He lied for Bush. He knew better but did it anyway. There are several documentaries, one from Australia that interview his undersecretaries and they say he knew it was false. Hell, even Armitage outed Valerie Plame says he knew it was 'speculative' at best.

Drinking the koolaid is not only done by Jim Jones' followers and Republicans but by you. I suppose you also think Reagan was used and had no idea about the Iran-Contra weapons for hostages deal too.
