Michelle Obama Stars In Virginia Robocall

Like John McCain, Barack Obama has used robocalls as a means of advancing his presidential ambitions. Usually, however, the Democratic nominee's spots are more positive in nature or simply designed to push back against McCain's efforts.

Voters in Virginia are now receiving one such call delivered by Michelle Obama urging them to get out and vote... early.

"We all know a lot is at stake in this election, you can't risk not letting your voice be heard, and heard early," goes the recording.

The Obama campaign hasn't left any stone unturned when it comes to getting people to the polls. And they seem completely devoted to having their supporters get to the polls early.

I got a lying robocall from Tom Ridge last night, and immediately called my local McCain-Palin HQ.

I told them that I had gotten the call, and it helped me decide that, for the first time in the 38 years I've been voting, I have decided to vote straight ticket.

"Thank you!," she said.

"That's awfully understanding of you," I said, "Because I'm voting for the Democrats."

Here's a thought: look up the number of your local McSame Campaign office and call them when you get a robocall to complain. This will do two things: let them know that this isn't working, and keep them from campaign work, such as handing out the phony "homemade signs" at rallies. (NPR caught that the other day.)

Yeah-gee!! I MISS living in a swing state. I miss all the ads and all the rallies and all the real electric excitement. I'm sure that this message was a refreshing change after the barrage of hate and slime that's been aimed at voter's ears lately. One of these days, and I hope it's really SOON, TEXAS is going to be considered a 'battleground' state again. I'm almost sure that Texas WILL go PURPLE this time-which is a GREAT CHANGE from deepest darkest RED-but I'd SURE like to see Texas get regular visits from the Presidential candidates and their 'crews'. However, to those of you who ARE in 'swing states', this is JUST A REMINDER that TEXAS HAS YOUR BACK!!
