Palin Denies $150,000 Clothing Tab: "That Is Not Who We Are"

PITTSBURGH - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin insisted in an interview with the Tribune on Thursday that she did not accept $150,000 worth of designer clothes from the Republican Party and "that is not who we are."

"That whole thing is just, bad!" she said. "Oh, if people only knew how frugal we are.

"It's kind of painful to be criticized for something when all the facts are not out there and are not reported," said Palin, saying the clothes are not worth $150,000 and were bought for the Republican National Convention. Still, she has been wearing pricey clothes at campaign events this fall. She said they will be given back, auctioned off or sent to charity. Most of them, she said, haven't even left the belly of her campaign plane.

Thrust into the national spotlight as John McCain's running mate in late August from relative obscurity as governor of Alaska, Palin has found herself under the microscope ever since, accused of being inexperienced, a drag on the ticket and, most recently, the recipient of racks of expensive clothes.

"That is not who we are"? Nobody is buying that, you lying cow. I don't think you've spoken a word of truth since McCain pulled you out of the wilds of Alaska some 7 or 8 weeks ago. Has it only been that long? It seems that you've been around much longer, but then, most people who outstay their welcome do seem like they've been around forever. Yes, there is a portion of America that responds to your lies and ugliness like flies to carrion, but fortunately for us, you won't be in power after 11/4.

Frugal? Palin is nowhere near frugal since she has spent several nights at a luxury hotel in NY with her daughters and billed it to Alaska (and this type of things happened over and over). She said the clothes that McCain campaign purchased for her was not her property since she only wore them once and returned to the campaign. She has been spending other people's money in order to have better lifestyle. That is not frugal. That is Palin being cheap.

Charity, my a&$! They could have bought $1,000 a piece outfits foe her for the 5 days a week X the 6 weeks she's been on the campaign trail, and it would have just been $30,000.

It is total insanity. Mel Brooks couldn't have made this up with Harvey Corman as McCain and Madelyn Kahn as Palin (may Corman and Khan rest in peace)....

Yes, I bet those Palins ARE frugal when it comes to their OWN money. Notice how they never spend their own. From charging Alaska per diem to live in their own home to charging the state to fly and feed their kids everywhere. Sarah Palin is the epitome of what the neocon's would call a "welfare queen"
