I am a transplant from New York. First time voting in Georgia come Monday morning. I also will be voting for Obama and against Chambliss and all Republicans. I have lost 70% of one of my retirement funds. Luckily the other is secure with the principal otherwise probably would have lost some of that also. I will be retiring in May 09, early as a widow. Have no health care, a 12 year old car, have to live with my son because I cannot afford anything else. The greed and lies that come from this Republican Administration are shameful.

I couldn't donate much -- but I donated about $10.00 to Jim Martin's campaign. I hope the money goes far.

My wife and I voted yesterday. Stood in line for an hour and a half. African American turnout is going to be unprecedented.

I voted absentee but my parents stood in line in Cobb County. They were surprised (a) by the high AA turnout and (b) by the number of people voting for the first time.

I have had a secret ambition that Georgia would quickly shift for months.

The time and circumstance is ripe.

Dukakis Lead Widens, According to New Poll
Published: July 26, 1988

LEAD: In the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention, the party's nominee, Michael S. Dukakis, has expanded his lead among registered voters over Vice President Bush, the probable Republican nominee, according to a Gallup Poll.

In the aftermath of the Democratic National Convention, the party's nominee, Michael S. Dukakis, has expanded his lead among registered voters over Vice President Bush, the probable Republican nominee, according to a Gallup Poll.

This was among the findings of a national public opinion poll of 948 registered voters conducted late last week for Newsweek magazine by the Gallup Organization. The telephone interviews took place on July 21, which was the last night of the convention, and on the night after that.

Fifty-five percent of the 948 registered voters interviewed in the poll said they preferred to see Mr. Dukakis win the 1988 Presidential election, while 38 percent said they preferred to see Mr. Bush win. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points.

I had a scary thought. All this hullabaloo about McCain's negativity and stuff, leading to more Dems winning seats in senate and Congress. Is there a chance that it gives Dems seats in those areas, but stops short of Obama being elected president? After a recent McCain rally in my hometown, I realized how many folks, are still for McCain. I'm from the suburbs, but it's an educated suburb. People have good jobs and go to college. Yet the turnout for McCain was huge. I am now scared.

Everybody, let's help Tabasco have his wish. Vote for Jim Martin who is a veteran and Saxby Chambliss' opponent.

Chambliss sat out the Vietnam war. Max Cleland served in Vietnam and lost two legs and an arm. In the Georgia Senate race 6 years ago, Chambliss painted Cleland as an unpatriotic and uncourageous American.

Please send Chambliss a message that real Americans do not allow our wounded veterans to be misused in this fashion. Donate to Jim Martin's campaign and if you are a Georgian, go to the polls and vote for Obama and Jim Martin!

If it becomes necessary to provide a citizen's escort to a polling location, regardless of who you would vote for, then I am available. As is my car for those without rides, or in case of inclement weather. I have offered this to individuals in my community, along with a cup of coffee and some munch'kins on me for their effort. Sorry if I offended any real munch'kins, it's my Mom's boyfriend's euphamism for snacks. He's from Greece, a long time ago, so he teases with these new languages a little, he's pro-democracy (go figure) and now pro-O/B, thanks to some serious convincing on my part.

See and enjoy this NEW video narrated by Barack's sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. Maya discusses the strong influence their mother has had on their values and outlook. The video is about Barack's mother, but includes many more pictures than I've seen of him, his sister and his mom.

I wish his grandmother well, and is able to pull through. It's clear to me that she is a special woman who helped raise an extraordinary daughter, grandson, and granddaughter.
