Second McCain Robocall Paints Obama As Terrorist Sympathizer

The McCain campaign has launched a second robocall campaign painting Barack Obama as terrorist sympathizer and a potential threat to national security.

Narrated by former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge, who identifies himself as "America's first Secretary of Homeland Security," the call suggests Obama would "give traditional civil rights to terrorists and talk unconditionally to dictators and state sponsors of terror."

Ridge also references the "startling" recent comments by Joe Biden about the crisis that will face the next president.

Readers in Wisconsin, Missouri, Virginia and North Carolina have reported receiving the call today.

An earlier round of McCain campaign robocalls, which have faced criticism from Democrats and some Republicans, alleged that Obama "worked closely with domestic terrorist William Ayers."

Here's the robocall:

Hello, this is Governor Tom Ridge, America's first Secretary of Homeland Security. I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC because this week Joe Biden, Barack Obama's running mate, made startling comments that we must take seriously. He reminded us of Sen. Obama's inexperience when he said that America would face an international crisis that Sen. Obama would be unprepared to handle alone. If the Democrats win complete control of government they will want to give traditional civil rights to terrorists and talk unconditionally to dictators and state sponsors of terror. Barack Obama and his Democrat allies lack the experience and judgment to lead America.

Since the call is paid for jointly by the McCain campaign and the RNC, a second voice is tacked on to the end of the call, warning of Democratic control of both elected branches.

In the light of the fact that it is suspected that that poor girl Michelle Mackin may have lied and inflicted her own injuries (the B is the wrong way round, but looks right if viewed in a mirror), do you think that this poor girl is in fact a victim of McCain Palins 'Hate train' and negative campaigning.
The girl, who is a GOP activist, but very young must have been in quite a state to self harm like this, and then blame the eponymous anonymous 'Black man'
Personal I hope she is okay, and despite the hate she must feel for Obama, I really do wish her well. Some rest and time away from campaigns and candidates might be a good idea.

McCain's line about "I've been tested". Well guy, if you are elected you will be tested again. And more than likely it will be the biggest test of your life. Maybe your experience will help. But its a big difference being the one responsible for success or failure vs being one of the 100 who support or reject.

If you get any of these calls, or, as in my case, disgusting mailings, don't get mad.

Look and see who sent them.

Go online and give $5, $20, whatever you can afford to the opposite political organization. If it comes from a state organization, give on that level.

It's a sad, sad day in American politics, and John McCain is a sad, sad little man. These people are actually trying to scare people into voting for them. How despicable. Al Qaeda influenced our last election by manipulating people into voting for W. They have admitted that their master plan is to bankrupt this country, by having us blow billions of dollars in Iraq while Al Qaeda continues to get stronger. One of their websites even has a member saying that they want McCain to win because he will foolishly and stubbornly continue Bush's policies in Iraq although even his beloved General Petraeus has said that "victory" is not a word that he would use when describing the situation in Iraq.

Does anyone actually STAY ON THE PHONE and LISTEN to robocalls? I never listen. Whenever they call while I am home and I realize it is a robocall I just hang up. When a robocall message is left on my service I just erase it WITHOUT even listening to it. I wonder how effective they are. They seem so OLD and OUTDATED, but maybe that's just me.

True enough, when the landline rings, we let it go to machine. 100% of the calls on this line, our DSL line, is a robocall, or some hapless local demanding we replace our gutters, or purchase the local rag's Sunday delivery.

When we got the new line, we gave the number to no one and asked AT&T to place it on a no call list. That has held the calls down to 10-15 a day! Thanks, AT&T.
