The McCain campaign has launched a second robocall campaign painting Barack Obama as terrorist sympathizer and a potential threat to national security.

Narrated by former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge, who identifies himself as "America's first Secretary of Homeland Security," the call suggests Obama would "give traditional civil rights to terrorists and talk unconditionally to dictators and state sponsors of terror."

Ridge also references the "startling" recent comments by Joe Biden about the crisis that will face the next president.

Readers in Wisconsin, Missouri, Virginia and North Carolina have reported receiving the call today.

An earlier round of McCain campaign robocalls, which have faced criticism from Democrats and some Republicans, alleged that Obama "worked closely with domestic terrorist William Ayers."

Here's the robocall:

Hello, this is Governor Tom Ridge, America's first Secretary of Homeland Security. I'm calling for John McCain and the RNC because this week Joe Biden, Barack Obama's running mate, made startling comments that we must take seriously. He reminded us of Sen. Obama's inexperience when he said that America would face an international crisis that Sen. Obama would be unprepared to handle alone. If the Democrats win complete control of government they will want to give traditional civil rights to terrorists and talk unconditionally to dictators and state sponsors of terror. Barack Obama and his Democrat allies lack the experience and judgment to lead America.

Since the call is paid for jointly by the McCain campaign and the RNC, a second voice is tacked on to the end of the call, warning of Democratic control of both elected branches.

As always, if you hear a robocall (or can record one), drop a line to hufftips@gmail.com.

This is hilarious.
General Petraeus said we should try to negotiate with our enemies.

Just what Obama proposed.

Why do they think we have no memories?

Frankly since Mc CAIN's been able to hire GOP operatives who once smeared him, and also smeared Kerry(2 vets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) just prove how baseless Mc CAIN has gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And to consider that ONLY Obama is nearly a terrorist when Annenberg and many other republicans did work with Ayers is simply racist...

John McCain and his neocon Republican allies lack the experience and judgment to run a truthful, dignified, unifying, and successful presidential campaign.

Tom Ridge-the man who gave us color coded terror alerts and duct tape! The man who would scare the bejeezus out of us one hour and then turn around and say 'Go shopping! Go on a trip. Go to Disneyland." Tom Ridge who couldn't figure out that the Anthrax plant was an INSIDE job. Yep! THAT Tom Ridge. I like the script-especially how Ridge ever so artfully adds on 'Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers' as an afterthought--just so whomever gets the call 'knows' that Obama not only wants to TALK to FOREIGN TERRORISTS, but has 'worked closely' with a DOMESTIC one as well.....

Ridge was a disastrous Homeland Secretary. He was dumb and foolish. He perfected the rule by fear philosophy. Now he comes back as a Robocaller? What a sad joke!

People like McCain rarely regret anything, 'cause they think they NEVER do anything wrong.
Palin is the same way.

You have to conclude the man either wants to lose, for whatever reason, or he's mentally unstable. Really. What else explains this level of slime when a reasoned rhetorical stance would actually do more for him in the final weeks?

I've decided: the guy is coo-coo for freakin coco-puffs.

Give him his meds and put him to bed.

It is not surprising that he would do the robocalls.

He was the first Secy of DHS, and by far the worst. He insulated himself from the organization, and was totally disinterested in running the department. He was a complete disaster, and the DHS still has massive organization, technical, and administrative problems that may never be solved.

It shoudl probably be splintered - at least a bit. It is unmanageable by a good manager and leader - and Tom Ridge was neither!!
