Bachmann Tapes Apology Ad

The Politico reported today:

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) has taped an advertisement apologizing for her televised comments calling Barack Obama anti-American, according to a Republican source familiar with her campaign's decision.

Bachmann campaign spokeswoman Michelle Marston said the campaign will be airing a new advertisement this afternoon, but declined to comment specifically on whether Bachmann would be apologizing in the spot.

The move comes as polling, both public and internal, shows Bachmann rapidly losing ground in her reelection bid. A University of Minnesota poll released today shows Bachmann trailing her Democratic opponent, Elwyn Tinklenberg, 45 percent to 43 percent. Those numbers are consistent with an automated SurveyUSA poll showing Bachmann trailing Tinklenberg 47 percent to 44 percent.

Bachmann does not directly address her comments or apologize to Obama in the ad. Other Republicans in tough spots have been more candid. In 2006, Rep. Don Sherwood (R-PA) apologized in an ad for having an affair. Recently Rep. Tom Feeney (R-FL) aired an ad apologizing for going on an Abramoff-funded trip to Scotland:

Michelle, you're having a tough go at it, right now, aren't you, Sweetie?! It would seem that everyone has misunderstood you and many concluded you're a bad person. But think about it, just being paranoid, suspicious of everyone with differing views from yours, wanting to eliminate them all DOESN'T necessarily make you a bad person, it just strongly implies that you're untreated in your mental illness.

So, Michelle, you just get that pretty little butt in gear, strutt yourself to your nearest qualified psychiatrist, and get back on your meds. There are some marvelous medications out there which you might take such as Abilify, Zyprexa or Geodon. Mind you, Sweet One, your Loving God also created those psychiatrists and even those medications precisely to help you. It's been a long campaign, Sweetie, and you need a good, long rest.

This is her apology -not. She was not telling the truth she still thinks members of congress need
to be investigated for being anti-american her husband and children must be so proud.
I am willing to bet she never met Obama or never talked to him but she is great at offering
her two cents and that two cents has landed her where she is now. I am on the side of
Tinklenberg. This woman has no place in the halls of congress since she loves to
spew hateful ideas when we have problems with the economy and people are feeling a
