LOS ANGELES — "Desperate Housewives" actor Gale Harold is out of intensive care at a Los Angeles hospital and improving daily after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident.

A statement from the actor's representatives, Nancy Seltzer and Associates, says "a full recovery is expected."

Harold had swelling on the brain and a fractured shoulder after last week's accident. He had been under observation in the intensive care unit at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.

Harold plays Jackson, the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character, on the ABC show.

The statement, released Thursday, added: "He thanks everyone for their good wishes."

I was thrilled to hear that Gale is out of intensive care and is doing so much better. He's a great actor. Hopefully he'll be able to get back to filming DH very soon. Love him as Jackson.

What! Gale, I love this actor and he needs more roles! I just loved him on QAF! I met all the actors, but never got a shot at meeting Gale, who is very shy. I was looking forward to seeing the show with him on it!

It is so good to hear that he will recover!! Gale Harold is a wonderfully senstive and intense actor. Now since his appearances on Desperate Housewives (Yes, I have returned to watching DH) we discover Gale has a real talent for comedy. Personally, he is an intelligent, thoughtful, and private person. His passionate interest in music, led him to help finance the documentary movie, Scott Walker 30 Century Man. Gale has many loyal fans worldwide, I count myself as one. Thank you for the article about his recovery!

I will follow Gale Harold anywhere. I was so pleased to hear that he is on the road to recovery. I hope he gets back to work soon. Desperate Housewives made the right decision adding him to the cast. It's been great to see him again. Now all they need to do when he gets back is give him some scenes that really show his stuff. Those that didn't know of him before have really missed out. But it's never too late. Just take a look at his amazing work that was listed in a post above, first and foremost his portrayal of the most amazing tv character ever - Brian Kinney of Queer As Folk!

Oh wow, I had no idea he was on Desperate Housewives, I don't watch network TV. I loved him as Brian Kinney on QAF. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

I have never seen Desperate Housewives, but I loved Gale Harold in Queer As Folk. I would like to add that I despise motorcycles. There are too many accidents on these contraptions, too many devasating head injuries and spinal cord injuries.

i, too, love gale from QAF - where he did a magnificent job, along with the rest of the very talented cast. i didn't even know he was on desperate housewives, never watch the show, but i was saddened to hear of his accident. it still doesn't sound very good; i wonder if he was wearing a helmet? i hope he has a fast recovery. he is a terrific actor; when he comes back to desperate housewives, i think i will start watching it.

A great bassist in Chicago, in the blues scene, had a horrific accident like this, without a helmet and he's is paralyzed from the neck down. Gale is very lucky...everyone be safe when on motorcycles! I don't like anyone not being safe!

Interesting: No mention of his years as lead in Queer as Folk. Hmmmm.

Also, no mention of his movies: Mental Hygiene, Particles of Truth, Rhinocerous Eyes, Wake, Life on the Ledge, Unseen, Martha Behind Bars, Fathers and Sons, East Broadway, Passenger Side, ItW; and his appearances in other tv series: Gray's Anatomy, Deadwood, Law & Order, Street Time, Vanished.

1201SLD's juvenile attempt at being snide? Hmmmmm.

Not at all. As I've seen him is dozens of episodes of Queer Folk, I consider that program to be one of his broadly-known and most important CV lines. My observation was more in the line of the omission's being that writer's "juvenile attempt at being snide".

Before you decided on my motivation, you might have looked at my other comments posted on HuffPo.

QAF is the only show I've seen him in. Don't get ABC so I didn't know he was on it. He's very good.
