The Wall Street Journal today rounds up the horde of prominent Republicans jumping ship to Barack Obama. Now one of John McCain's actual advisers has switched sides:

Charles Fried, a professor at Harvard Law School, has long been one of the most important conservative thinkers in the United States. Under President Reagan, he served, with great distinction, as Solicitor General of the United States. Since then, he has been prominently associated with several Republican leaders and candidates, most recently John McCain, for whom he expressed his enthusiastic support in January.

This week, Fried announced that he has voted for Obama-Biden by absentee ballot. In his letter to Trevor Potter, the General Counsel to the McCain-Palin campaign, he asked that his name be removed from the several campaign-related committees on which he serves. In that letter, he said that chief among the reasons for his decision "is the choice of Sarah Palin at a time of deep national crisis."

TPM has the press releases touting Fried's presence on the McCain campaign.

Sarah's cries of communism and the like all stem from her sympathies and close ties to AIP. They believe the lower 48 are communist and Satanic. Her fanatical religious and political roots run very deep.

You do remember the professional team Hill and Bill right - 35 years of politicing and lost in overtime to a rookie.

by election day it seems McCain's "steady hand" will be on the tiller of a crewless ship. this whole GOP campaign has been a monumental embarrassment for everyone who has touched it. Had it been scripted and submitted for an episode of "west wing" it would have been rejected as way too implausable. What a fiasco.

*thumbs up* you are absolutely right! *thumbs up*

Wow! This must be devastating to McCain to have one of his own advisers endorse his opponent. This endorsement speaks volume about the problems behind the McCain campaign. If McCain were to be elected his problems would carry over into the White House. It has become evident that he does not make good choices and he does not deserve to be our President.

Former Gov. Weld's (Mass) comments yesterday endorsing Sen. Obama on CNN were marvelous.

I see a future SNL where the spoof is that everyone including McCain's mother is endorsing Barak Obama.

This may not be a joke. She has been absent from the campaign trail. Could it be that she is an Obama supporter?!

McCain must think ALL Americans are out of touch with reality as he is ...

I mean seriously, who else has the nerve to say, "Forget that I have no new policies. Forget that I plan to continue ALL the failed policies of the past 8 years and even double down on some. Forget that my judgment and temperament are not befitting of a President. Just vote for me because I can lift a pen to stop the Democrats from passing Bills ..."

Now if that is not the dumbest argument for President designed for the dumbest members of the American Population, I do NOT know what is ...

Vote the Bums OUT ! ...

This is a salute to courage. I enjoin other McCain Advisers including Mitt Romney and Rudy Guilliani to put Country First by voting Obama because they are warming up for 2012 but want the Republican base to see them as having fought for McCain. We can see through their dilemna but they have to be courageous if indeed they want to be President one day.
