McCain Adviser Endorses Obama

The Wall Street Journal today rounds up the horde of prominent Republicans jumping ship to Barack Obama. Now one of John McCain's actual advisers has switched sides:

Charles Fried, a professor at Harvard Law School, has long been one of the most important conservative thinkers in the United States. Under President Reagan, he served, with great distinction, as Solicitor General of the United States. Since then, he has been prominently associated with several Republican leaders and candidates, most recently John McCain, for whom he expressed his enthusiastic support in January.

This week, Fried announced that he has voted for Obama-Biden by absentee ballot. In his letter to Trevor Potter, the General Counsel to the McCain-Palin campaign, he asked that his name be removed from the several campaign-related committees on which he serves. In that letter, he said that chief among the reasons for his decision "is the choice of Sarah Palin at a time of deep national crisis."

LOL I think this endorsement is hillarorious he has already voted for Obama. I think there is going to be a lot of quiet republicans who end up voting for Obama. I think Obama might get about 20% of the republican vote

So now Harvard Law's Charles Fried wants to elect a president soft on socialism and mid- east terrorists because he supposedly doesn't like Senator McCain's choice of Governor Sarah Palin as Vice President. Are we the people really supposed to believe that? Sunday there was turncoat Colin Powell, and now turncoat Charlie Fried. What devilment is being perpetrated in our land in the name of politics. Something toxic and treacherous seems in the air. Or lurking in the shadows. My question is why these and other usually good upstanding people are now losing all self control and all self respect, and like lemmings headed dangerously toward the sea.
