The McCain campaign has authorized another vicious robocall that claims Barack Obama and Democrats would cut off funds for the military, have accused American troops of "war crimes," and pose a threat to national security.

Two readers from Wisconsin reported receiving the call, narrated by Orson Swindle, a fellow POW and McCain friend, mid-afternoon Friday.

"Democrats attempt to cut off crucial troop funding," goes the script. "They accuse our troops of war crimes. And Senator Biden predicts Senator Obama will be tested. A weak president will indeed be tested. Obama and Democrat's politics endanger American lives. They are not qualified to lead our military and our country. When you vote, vote for the team that puts leadership, character and country first. John McCain."

A recording was posted on the website StopPoliticalCalls.org.

The text of the robocall includes some positive words about McCain himself, including note that the Senator was endorsed by over 300 military generals and officers. But it is hard to argue that this message -- that Obama and the Democratic Congress would be a danger to the country -- is not the most incendiary yet to come from the Republican ticket.

As always, if you have any insight or information (or, preferable, recordings) let us know.

McCain has his own list of war crimes, but nobody wants to bring it up out of respect for his POW status.

Alaska Rep. Calls for Probe Into 'Troopergate' Witness Tampering

In a new front for Gov. Sarah Palin’s “Troopergate” troubles, a top Alaska Democratic lawmaker has called on the state’s attorney general to appoint an independent investigator to probe whether operatives in Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign broke Alaska’s criminal witness-tampering laws.

Clinton was tested.

Bush was tested.

Kennedy was tested.

It's a pattern; and Mr. Lieberman knows that.

What the hell does Mc Cain think his future is going to be like after all of this? Even if his delusions came true and the the American electorate was stupid enough to put him in the White House, practically nobody in the house or the Senate, Republicans included, would ever have anything to do with him. After this scorched earth campaign he'll be radioactive. Regardless of the outcome of this election the man has screwed himself forever.

Isn't this the mantra that Sean Hannity has been spouting on his radio show and on False News?

Ever hear of Mai Lai and Lt. William Calley? There have been war crimes by our troops. To act as if it doesn't happen is a little lame.

Did the McSame campaign ever think of trying to come up with solutions? All they do is lie about Obama.

OMG!

This is like watching a sitcom!

No one believes McCain anymore. Call him the grandfather who cried wolf. Young boys' lies are much more believable than those of old guys.

Many horrific things have been done in wartime, has McCain forgotten Viet Nam?
Obama is not the only person who has decried the loss of civilian life in Iraq and Afghanistan.
These calls will appeal to the "my country/religion/race/ party" right or wrong types that comprise the base.
Hopefully no one else will fall for this sleaze.

"All" McCain did was drop bombs. And then got shot down while hotdogging. Then he spent 5.5 years as a POW. He wasn't on the ground torching villages, cutting off ears, shooting kids because they 'laughed' at American troops. He probably wasn't even involved in any of the heavier Napalm attacks. If there ever was a trial for war crimes, he'd more than likely get off by saying he was 'just following orders'. I'm REALLY NOT excusing the guy. WHERE and WHEN did Obama accuse our troops of war crimes? Are these people just making things up now? Do any of these recent attacks have ANY basis in reality, outside of coming from the Rice Krispies bowl in the morning?

Ex-POW Swindle speaks of generals and admirals that support McCain, but never discusses that when McCain applied to be made an admiral after the Vietnam War the Navy deemed McCain unfit to lead men. And Swindle doesn't tell you if any other of McCain's fellow POWs support him. Remember, Kerry had one vet from his unit in Vietnam stand by him while the others swiftboated him. Now McCain slanders Obama to avoid being swiftboated by fellow POWs. Afterall, when criticized for mistreating our POWs as "war criminals," Le Duan, then chief of Viet Communist Party, retorted that he has the testimony of, John McCain, the son of the admiral heading the flotila off Hanoi's shores as proof that our planes deliberately massacre women and children. McCain thinks he's still a fighter pilot, swooping in and dropping his slander bombs on Obama and getting out before Obam shoots him down with his own missiles of truth. McCain is not fit to lead. He is dying of metastatic melanoma yet he would impose on us a woman as ignorant as she is ambitious to replace him. McCain crushed the MIA families when they sought making public all the POWs debriefings. McCain is unfit to be president because he is hidding too many facts with gangster like violent rage. Covering up gfor him, Republicans show how low my olf party has become.

But some of our troops have committed war crimes. Not of the same depth like in places like Bosnia or even Iraq in Kuwait. But between Abu Gharib and some choice incidents some of our soldiers have committed war crimes. And I am sure our security contractors have committed many more. The CIA renditions were war crimes. The no bid contracts were war crimes (against ourselves).

As to whether Barack acknowledges this is a different story.
