Polls: White Support For Obama At Historic Level

Barack Obama, the first black major party nominee, is positioned to win the largest share of white voters of any Democrat in more than three decades, according to an exclusive Politico analysis of recent Gallup and Pew Research Center polling.

The most recent two weeks of Gallup polling, which includes roughly 13,000 interviews, show 44 percent of non-Hispanic white voters presently support Obama -- the highest number for a Democrat since 47 percent of whites backed Jimmy Carter in 1976.

I am so tired of having the media push this Black and White issue in our faces every minute of the day!! Yes, there is is small portion of the populaiton who have issues with races different than theirs; however, I belived that most Ameircans are beyond that issue--at least it is not the primary denominator in their decision making--until the media keeps hammering on it constantly!! There are millions of White Americans who are intelligent and thoughtful---there are millions of White Americans who trully care about the well being of this country, and as such, will vote for the best candidate for the job! the most intelligenct, stable, consistent, politically courageous candidate--and that is Barack Obama.

It is all bunk! go to factcheck.org and you will find that they investigated the allegations of that stupid rumor and found that the rumor was false. Barack Obama was born in the United States. Besides, he would have never been able to obtain a US passport without an original birthcertificate. He would not have been able to pass the very strict national security checks all US Senators endure in order to get his national security clearance. Stop that crap, it is old crap and we are all really tired of it!
Why not question McCain's citizenship? becuse he is White? He was actually born in Panama! and because of military loopholes, he is a citizen, but he was not born on US soil! Why is that not an issue for you?

Barack Obama was raised in Indonesia until the age ten and then lived in Hawaii. Why would he STILL be learning the language of mainstream of society at the age of 30? Hawaii had a diversified population and he went to school at Occidential which was integrated as well as at Harvard and Columbia. Why, at 30, would he be learning the language of mainstream society? Clearly, he did not see himself as part of a unified America.

Next, most interesting is "we have the obligation to return to the black community." Just what black community did Obama, the privileged upper classed child and college student, return to?

This is a beautiful thing - we can all work together - we are the greatest country in the world and all eyes are on us - We can do all things - if we work together. When I give blood every 2 months - I make sure that weeks before I donate - I take extra vitamins, etc. so that the recipient will get the best blood possible - I'm sure it has been given to who needed it whether he or she was white, black, brown, yellow - I'm just giving it to the people with love. Our human ancestral descendants originated from Africa, somewhere in the Great Rift Valley, they dispersed throughout the continents, some settling in northern regions, where their skin conditioned to the climate, so they didn't require an abundance of melanin. and those who stopped on Africa required this condition.

What is curious to me is why the Republican party caters to these ignorant racist people. Oh yeah, they are the only people stupid enough to keep voting for the same failures, and keep expecting different results.

Also curious is how, in the year 2008, people cannot understand that we are all human, all 99.9% the same DNA, all from the same African ancestor. Africa, where we all began as a human race and these racists don't understand it. Oh, yeah, many of these racists call themselves Christians, and they don't believe in science, like Sarah Palin says she doesn't believe in science. Hate to break bad news to you, but the Democrat party was the party that owned slaves. Many in the south are still racist. The Republic party, which my great, great grandfather was a founder, is the party of freedom and freed the slaves. My great, great grandfather, an abolitionist, ran the Illinois underground railroad. My great, great grandmother was an escaped black slave. His grandfather was a black revolutionary soldier and his father fought in the Colonial Wars in the mid 1700s.

All intermarried with whites which was a class issue in New England, not one of racism. So, I ask, just how black does one have to be to be black and just how white does one have to be to be white? The father of the abolitionist had his own farm and was the leading breeder of Hereford Cattle on the East Cost. Whoa, a black landowner? His family was treated by the black doctor in 1810. Whoa, a black doctor?

See, its not about color (not for Republicans, the party of freedom) but its about character. Character is the family legacy, passed down. Every member of our family since King Philips War has served in the military. We love our country and are willing to lay down the line for freedom for everyone else.

That's not something Nancy Pelosi can understand nor anyone else whose families arrived here after the 1900s. I have some good stories about her and her American journey. It didn't include sacrifice.

So your family members slaughtered Native Americans just like all the other European and African transplant "freedom fighters". Hurray--I'm so proud of my ancestors who did that as well. The original name of the party was the Democratic-Republican party from 1792-1830. I don't think the Rebublican party of today bears any resemblance to the party of Lincoln. As for your who is black and who is white question, I say--won't it be nice when we are a citizenry concerned with issues and the ethnicity of the candidate isn't one of them.
