Ridge: Race Would Be Different If I Was VP Pick

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge said today that John McCain can't become president without carrying Pennsylvania and that the race would be different if McCain had chosen him as his running mate.

"I think the dynamics would be different in Pennsylvania," Ridge said when asked if he should have been chosen to run as vice president over Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. "I think we'd be foolish not to admit it publicly."

why didn't McCain think out of the box and nominate Condy Rice for VP instead of Sarah??

could have led to an extremely interesting campaign....

no one can argue basic facts:

Rice is a woman..
Rice is an extremely attractive woman
Rice is an extremely intelligent woman...
Rice has impeccable academic credentials...
Rice is very experienced in foreign affairs....
Rice is experienced in bringing opposing sides together....
Rice is a bit of a maverick, not always a "yes, mr President" puppet......
Rice is black.....

You know, Ridge isn't nearly as "respected" as he'd like to think he is!! Many of us here in PA were appalled when Bush appointed him as "homeland security" to his cabinet!! One thing for sure, he'd be on the same path as McSame......I don't think Ridge would have been any better of a choice, not at all!!

As a PA citizen from Ridges hometown of Erie I can tell you that even if Ridge was at the top of the ticket I wouldnt vote for him.
After watching him cuddle with Bush and his color coded fear mongering I lost ALL respect I ever had for him.
The only reason Ridge was popular here is because he was more like a democrat than a rethuglican, that all got washed away when he joined the Bush cabal.
