Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge said today that John McCain can't become president without carrying Pennsylvania and that the race would be different if McCain had chosen him as his running mate.

"I think the dynamics would be different in Pennsylvania," Ridge said when asked if he should have been chosen to run as vice president over Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. "I think we'd be foolish not to admit it publicly."

Democrats. Don't get cocky, no matter how far ahead we appear. PROTECT PA!

BTW, we also need to overcome Republican efforts to suppress Democrat voters.

Keep talking Tommy. You'll find yourself in the same sewer as Bachman. The smart republicans(few as they may be) are either backing Obama or laying low and keeping their mouths shut.

Yes, a guy named Tom would be giving the concession speech the night of Nov 4th instead of a guy named John.

Well, I think we should all be happy that Mac exercised his poor judgment in selecting Loony for VP. ANY other possibility could have made this an actual race.

It's been mentioned many times at HuffPo but I never paid it much attention until this story. Wow! The Republicans really do eat their young! They even carry that blame game to each other! C'mon, Tom! Modesty doesn't run in your family, does it? Talk about presumption!

True! Tom Ridge would have made for a different campaign but would not have changed the McCain Image of being a Hawk that wants to continue an unpopular war and the McCain tax cuts for the rich and Big Oil! The problem isn't Sarah Palin as much as it is John McCain! Nobody, and I mean nobody is going to buy into continuing the war in Iraq with a failing economy and the Middle Class out of work! The enemy of John McCain is not Obama-It's George Bush!

And I felt so protected after 911 when as head of national security he told us all to make sure we had a flashlight and batteries.

Honestly Pawlenty could be saying much the same thing. That if he were the Veep pick they would quite possibly have a chance to flip Minnesota.

But one thing that neither Ridge nor Pawlenty do is energize the base the way Palin does. Yes it costs McCain in the middle but as you may recall the McCain campaign was suffering from what looked like terminal boredom before the announcement.

There will be a LOT of what-iffing after November 4th. They are just getting a running start at it.

This is just an obvious attempt achieve some separation from McCain's stinkbomb campaign. The effort should be hilarious. The co-charmain for The Stupidest Presidential Campaign in History is about to start playing some pretty fancy dodgeball.

George and Laura Bush just voted.

Any bets on how they voted?

I will bet they voted for Obama/Biden.

Obama has my support and my vote, but don't become over-confident and believe that he is unbeatable, please! We still need to continue to encourage and work towards that goal or risk seeing it slip away.

And it was great to get that Obama = terrorist robocall from Tom Ridge yesterday here in Philadelphia. What a shameless hypocrite.

Whenever I see you Tom, I think about duct tape and plastic and scaring the hell out of people with your color chart. You are kidding yourself if you think your run would have been successful with your friend John McCain. Your deficits are all about George Bush.

Well, Tommy, would this be a red, orange or yellow alert day for this disastrous campaign?
