Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge said today that John McCain can't become president without carrying Pennsylvania and that the race would be different if McCain had chosen him as his running mate.

"I think the dynamics would be different in Pennsylvania," Ridge said when asked if he should have been chosen to run as vice president over Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. "I think we'd be foolish not to admit it publicly."

Uh, no...

McCain was hanging there like dead fruit on the tree until Palin came along to charge up a certain part of the far right base.

Unfortunately for McCain, Palin also looked like a desperate choice to capture the "Hillary vote" and she also offended nearly everyone else on the planet. Playing to the base isn't working this year.

Let the retributions begin!

Hey so much for modesty. The funny thing is, i was watching when chris mathews implanted that thought in ridges mind.LOL no really he (mathews said exactly that to ridge in an interview) they are all coming apart at the seams and the loony foam is flying out. i think mathews and maddow should start experimenting with other implants.

I'm sure the race would be different if that beady-eyed weasel were on the ticket. It would be even slimier.

Another con, seeing his future swirling in the bowl.

You're a sinker Tom, you'd go down first.

Ridge, I think it would be foolish to believe that any Republican ticket will win in Pennsylvania. I heard this guy on MSNBC and let me tell you...this guy Ridge is a pure Neo Con.

What makes Ridge and McCain think they can win in Pennsylvania!

They have not had a lead in the state this year and are currently 12% behind!

Do thay not understand Number?

This is Ridge's way to "SELF-AGGRANDIZING" and enriching his own popularity!

They had better worry about holding onto their BASE:

Kentucky -20% in Sept. for Obama and -8% Oct 21 for Obama: Trend +12% to Obama!

Kansas -32% in Sept. for Obama and -12% Oct 22 for Obama: Trend +20% to Obama!

Arkansas -24% in Sept. for Obama and -11% Oct 18 for Obama: Trend +13% to Obama!

Texas -21% in Sept. For Obama and -10% Oct 21 for Obama: Trend +11% to Obama

If these trends continue these states are REAL HORSE RACES!

Yet, Tom, you took the time to record the nasty robocall that just came to my house. Personally, if I were you, I would have let the old f o ol hang himself, rather than lower my standards to such a level.

Tom ridge shouldn't get caught up in the ugly robocall business/nobody wants this kind of blowback if they have any political plans for the future. this is just fodder for the Democrats for elections for many years to come.

For Republicans I'll paraphrase that old typing test line: now is the time for all good men to distance themselves from their Party

Two words, Tom Ridge, two words: electricity deregulation.

Pennsylvania homes and businesses are about to see their electric bills increase a staggering 30 to 70%, all because of deregulation you pushed through when you were governor. Businesses are now threatening to leave the state as a result. Don't tell me that Obama would not have reminded Pennsylvania voters of your role in this boondoggle for the power companies. If Obama didn't, I certainly would have. Come to think of it, I just did...

IL went thru that last year. The power company, Ameren, is ripping the consumer OFF! Even though gas is down, do you think natural gas has gone down for this company? Heck no. I don't care whether these utility companies have shareholders or not, we need some competition. No one company should be doing business as a monopoly.

The utility & oil companies are the ones behind why this country hasn't moved forward to alternative energy sources.

Have to agree with you there - here in Oregon, the price of energy is relatively inexpensive but there are times when we consider heating our home primarily with wood. Good luck to you in IL!

Wow! Talk to folks in California who were subject to energy manipulation from Ken Lay and others from ENRON. The rolling blackouts, the rising costs...all a result of deregulation. If I lived in Pennsylvania, I'd be stocking up on candles and lanterns.
