Ridge: Race Would Be Different If I Was VP Pick

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge said today that John McCain can't become president without carrying Pennsylvania and that the race would be different if McCain had chosen him as his running mate.

"I think the dynamics would be different in Pennsylvania," Ridge said when asked if he should have been chosen to run as vice president over Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. "I think we'd be foolish not to admit it publicly."

Ridge is right....It would have been a more closer race....BUT...With the economic crisis and very unpopular president Bush...The GOP was doomed from the start anyways....Ridge, it was not your time - seeing how bad this campaign is, you would have been burning in this hot pot of deceit and failure.

Update - Police: Campaign Worker Admits Making Up Story

A Pittsburgh police commander says a volunteer for the McCain campaign who reported being robbed and attacked near a bank ATM in Bloomfield has confessed to making up the story. Police say charges will be filed. More details to follow.

Thats a pretty big ego you have there. Are you sure because maybe with your being Pro Choice it wouldnt have galvanized the base as Palin did and McCain would be right where he was behind. Also maybe Obama would have looked at a different route to victory that didnt in clude PA. Thats the problem with hindsight you cant say becuase you dont know to what extent your being on the ticket would have altered the Obama campaign's response
