Wall Street cut bigger losses Friday afternoon, but remained in the red, as markets worldwide slumped on bets that a recession is imminent - if not already in place.
With under an hour left in the session, the Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) fell 222 points or 2.5%. The Dow had slumped as much as 504 points in the morning.
