I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Appearing on Meet the Press, NBC's Chuck Todd noted that early voting is "through the roof," and that turnout is threatening John McCain even in states that lean his way, including Georgia and North Carolina. Turnout among African-Americans might be "somewhere between 95 and 100 percent in some of these states," he noted, upturning some red-leaning southern states. According to Todd, GOP strategists are now asking, "Is South Carolina now in single digits? What's going on in Mississippi?"

Todd also said that Obama has built enough strength in other states that he can likely lose Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio and still get to 270 electoral votes.

Yesterday, Albuquerque, New Mexico hosted rallies for both Obama and McCain, McCain's rally was earlier in the day and Obama's was in the evening.

The official total attendance for each:
McCain: 1,000 - 1,500
Obama: 35,000 - 40,000 inside event, 10,000 - 15,000 outside the venue

If this doesn't say something, I don't know what does...

SOMETHING TO WATCH FOR ON ELECTION NIGHT. IF OBAMA WINS VA. AND IT'S ONE OF THE STATES WHERE POLLS CLOSE FIRST, IT'S GOING TO BE A LONG NIGHT FOR MCSAME.

PA. AND OHIO IF THEY GO OBAMA EVEN WITHOUT FL. LOOK FOR A LANDSLIDE. IF OBAMA WINS VA. OH. AND FL. THE MCCAIN CAMPAGIN WILL MAKE A SPEECH VERY EARY IN THE NIGHT TO TRY AND CHANGE THE MINDS OF FOLKS ON THE WEST COAST, BUT IT WON'T WORK.

IF MCCAIN WINS VA. WE COULD BE IN FOR A DOG FIGHT. SO GET OUT THE VOTE AND GET OUT AND VOTE.

Brokaw is a Republician diehard, he tries to hide it but not very well.

I know. I was so disappointed when he replaced Tim. I woul rather have someone that I could absolutely not pinpoint who they were rooting for.

TIM RUSSERT never showed bias or prejudice and everybody got the hot seat just the same, but Brokaw and his reporting are sorely lacking these days. TIM RUSSERT was the best of the best, OMG, what a field day he would be having....now. And he would be reporting fair and square. MEET THE PRESS will never ever be the same without him.

Brokaw and McCain, McBush are all very close friends. His bias shows a bright as the sun shines in everything he does and has done during this entire campaign, every time he answers a question, it is a biased slanted response. He makes me sick. I avoid him like the flu.

I hope the media and both parties take a good look at the African American vote after this election. Then they may see the power of the African American vote. Democrats take it for granted and Republicans deem it insignificant. It's been the history of this country to treat African Americans as second class citizens (this played out in a number of ways in the past couple of weeks in Palin and McCain rallies and the infamous Ashley Todd).

As an African American, I started voting 3rd party because of my resentment towards the way each major party treated the African American constituency- and that includes African American politicians as well as those who are not African American. Charlie Rangel is my congressman, and he too will have hell to pay at the poll when it comes to my vote.

I am an Obama supporter because I believe Obama see EVERY person and EVERY vote as significant. He speaks to me in ways that no other politician has spoken to me. I'm proud to finally get an opportunity to vote for someone I believe in rather than voting according to the pols ethnic make up of party affiliation.

Even though I know that we've been taken advantage of by the Democratic party, I could not be a republican as I don't think they represent the downtrodden. They just want to keep them there. I have at times voted for a single Republican when I thought they were the best candidate. I've never wasted my vote on an indepent who did not have a chance to even represent me. Like Mr. Nader.

I am voting for Obama because he represents the American people as can be seen in the energetic and enthusiastic crowds who are full of hope and joy not hate and divisiveness.

I agree. Democrats have been taking the AA vote for Granted. Republicans have been winning without it so they don't think it is important. People are upset because AA are voting for Obama in record numbers. Besides Bill Clinton no one has taken the time to speak to the issues that matter to AA. Obama is the first presidential candidate I can really relate to and am excited about voting for.

I am so anxious about this election. I have never seen history made like we will make it on November 4!!!!

The republicans have turned their back on the middle class but they have completely ignored minorities. But they are too dumb to realize that minorities far outnumber the ra cists whites that are the republican base. And for the rest of us "whites", we are sick and tired of the divisiveness that are the republicans. The majority of America is tired of their judgment of people based on their color or religion!

African Americans realize that Obama is inclusive of everyone. They are not voting because Obama is half black! They are voting because they believe that finally, here is a president who cares about all Americans. Unlike what happened with Katrina -- Obama stands for NO AMERICAN LEFT BEHIND!!!!

I believe a President Obama will finally put an end to bi gotry!

He probably won't convert the very hard-core racists, but I think he will certainly diminish their numbers. His message has always been inclusive of everyone. Think of all the totally RED states that he was not afraid to venture in. It's just unblievable how he is energizing the people. I cannot wait for him to be our president. It won't be easy but we know he is for the people and will be working with our best interests at heart.

Obama has a lot of money because why? Because we, the people, sent it to him in 10 and 20 dollar bills. They keep talking about Obama has more money, but they don't say why. It seems that all of us people who sent him money are going to vote for him. Doesn't that tell you something?

Exactly. I've heard them say Obama is trying to "buy" the election. That is what Mitt Romney did when he spent millions of his own money. What the McCain campaign should fear about Obama's fundraising is not the number of ads he'll buy, but what it says about the numbers of people who are going to vote for him.

AND WHAT DO THOSE MORONS WANT THE MAN TO DO WITH THE MONEY WE SEND HIM. YOU KNOW WHAT I WANT HIM TO DO. BUY AS MANY ADS, TALK TO AS MANY PEOPLE, TRAVELL THE COUNTRY, PAY HIS STAFF AND WIN THIS ELECTION SO WE CAN BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.

John McCain, I had a dream last night.
I was standing at a lighthouse, high above the water.
And then, I noticed a strange dark storm cloud, high in the sky, far off in the distance.
It got darker and bigger, all across the horizon.
Everywhere I looked.
A few large waves crashed against the lighthouse.
No matter, I am protected in the lighthouse.
And then...
I realized the storm cloud in the distance
wasn't a cloud at all....
Hope ya have flood insurance ;) ;)

It is not only African Americans who are going to vote for Senator Obama, it is Americans of all races. Senator Obama has energized and inspired so many of us. He even has Republicans voting for him that is why these red states are turning blue. Some of these red states do not have any minorities. It is the man who is running that has made the difference. This is so beautiful to watch. What Senator Obama said in his speech in 2004 is coming true right before our eyes: " There are not blue states and red states, this is the UNITED states."

Yes, it is a very beautiful thing. However, we must get the vote out. We must make this a landslide to counteract the votes all over this country that may be tossed.

As hard as it may be to believe, there are we whites in the deep South who support Obama as well. I see his yard signs swelling in numbers by the day in my small Alabama town. We may surprise you yet - and what a glorious day that will be if the south goes blue. Matter of fact, I will cry with joy if Obama becomes our president. I have seldom seen a person of any race or creed that has fired the world's imagination and sense of hope as has Barack Obama. Three who shared his qualities were JFK, RFK, MLK and Anwar Sadat.

If some red states turn blue that will truly be great!!! Actually, my main dislike of Republicans is that they win elections by minority-bashing.

I would love it if elections were won and lost based on debating ideas without this "we versus them" racial element to it.

We need to STOP USING WORDS like the "n" word, "redneck" or "white trash". As Colin Powel says this could be a TRANSFORMATIONAL time for America.

Man I have been saying this since day one. The black vote is going to turn out in numbers we have never seen before. It's going to be glorious to see the full power of the black vote. And this was something O-bama had to win. He didn't have the black vote locked int he very beginning of this thing. They didn't think he was black enough, was going to get as far as he did, and didn't want to get their hearts broken to watch him lose. They also had trust in the C-lintons who actually did put their money where their mouths were when it came to black and Latino issues. The C-lintons successfully alienated them during the primaries. They also successfully galvanized the black vote.

I just hope we see the full power of the Asian vote, Latino vote, and youth vote. Let's make it all the way around.

You don't have to justify why blacks are voting for Obama. Whites never justified or answered for keeping blacks from voting with threats, violence, and Constitutional inconsistencies. Or why many of them voted Dubya into office both times. If people don't understand the historical dynamics of this situation AND the fact that Obama wouldn't get a "Pookie" in the hood to vote for him if he wasn't legit, that's THEIR problem. With the history of black people in this country there is NO reason for us to justify and validate our reasons for self-preservation by voting for a great candidate who just happens to be black.

Bravo.

That is why Michael Steele lost the black vote for Senate in Maryland. What good is a black candidate who is not progressive?

I am black, but I don't want Obama to be President of Black People, I want him to be President of the United States--ALL THE PEOPLE--we need to unite. I don't want white people to be without healthcare anymore than I want black people to be.
