When Joe Biden campaigned in Palm Beach County, Florida in September he was interviewed by one Damon Weaver, a remarkably poised and charming 5th grader. Weaver's news segment on Biden's visit is highly entertaining and worth checking out. Make sure to watch to the end, when Weaver pronounces Biden his "homeboy."

LHoney, I agree that the story about the granddaughters should be an ad. But I also thing someone should splice Damon's interview with Senator Biden with Governor Palin's interview, where she asked someone to explain to her what it is the Vice President actually does! Post that one on youtube and its game over!

That might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. That made me tear up a little pit. What an amazing experience for these kids to be able to participate in this process, in elementary school no less! As a teacher I give 2 thumbs up.

I am Damon Weaver's teacher for KEC TV at KEC/Canal Point Elementary in Palm Beach County, Florida. I am glad everyone is enjoying our report about Joe Biden. I have also brought Damon and Amari (cameraman) to rallies for Obama, Hillary Clinton, and McCain. I am teaching my students that as journalists they need to be neutral and provide equal coverage for all candidates. We have attended more Democrat events only because they campaign more in South Florida than the Republicans. The most recent event we attended was Obama's job summit in Lake Worth on October 21, 2008. After the summit when Obama was shaking his supporters' hands Damon asked him a question. Unfortunately my cameraman forget to press record on the camera. The same thing happend the day before the Obama event when we went to a Hillary Clinton event. When Damon asked Hillary a question he forget to turn on the microphone and the cameraman recorded the ground. I keep telling myself they are only fifth graders.
I heard on the news that Obama will be coming back to Florida this week. I am going to try and contact his press people and try to setup an interview with Obama and Damon. It can't hurt to try.

Sen. Biden did a fine job explaining what the VP does on a regular everyday basis in a manner Caribou could not after repeated attempts.
But even more importantly, Biden will be able to support Obama and be a confidant and reliable soundboard for Obama is a manner Caribou CAN NOT.
Can you imagine the other guy asking Caribou for advice on anything?!
