I Like ItI Don’t Like It

When Joe Biden campaigned in Palm Beach County, Florida in September he was interviewed by one Damon Weaver, a remarkably poised and charming 5th grader. Weaver's news segment on Biden's visit is highly entertaining and worth checking out. Make sure to watch to the end, when Weaver pronounces Biden his "homeboy."

Rock on young Damon! I thought the support he got from the local TV station was great. Mentoring is about fostering passion. I am willing to bet Damon and his cameraman both are even more focused on their education after this wonderful experience.

With all those Cubans in Florida you would think they would have ESL classes available.

Maybe Biden can learn that J O B S is not a three letter word during his visit.

Damon is now my favorite reporter. He actually is the most intelligent one I've seen thorughout this election year. They ought to give the Meet the Press gig to him.

Wow... I wish I had had an opportunity like this when I was in the fifth grade.

Seriously, though, Biden didn't look too bad. Granted, as long as you don't look too condescending and keep your facts straight, those "gotcha" elementary school journalists won't do too much harm.

He's just practicing explaining the VP's job very slowly and simply, such that even a 5th grader can get it, to help Palin out.

A little long winded but essentially correct.

Holy crap!

Biden's bullshit answer was actually worse than Sarah Palin's! At least Palin got the part about presiding over the Senate correct (albeit on her third try).

Oh, how it makes one long for the days of Hubert Humphrey...

Hey, give Joe a break! At least he didn't totally lose it with the kid like he did with the local anchor who asked him questions. Joe needs to keep that temper in check.

Damon Weaver is adorable. He's a natural.
I think Joe Biden did the right thing, describing things the way he did. It's true that one of the jobs of the VP is ask about the health of the President every day, but trying to explain this to a kid is difficult. As adults, we know about this aspect, but letting kids be kids for a little while longer is important.
Ms. West was baiting Joe Biden, and she was waaaaay over her head there. He was incredulous, not angry. There is a differece between temper and passion.

Definately one of the best TV reporters I've seen in this election.Mind you his competition is pretty weak. I mean Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly really don't stand a chance against an intelligent 5th grader.

Unlike Sean Hannity, Damon Weaver might actually finish college.
