It seems as though we'll have a historic Democratic landslide victory (fingers crossed!). It's really about time..... we need to concentrate on congressional and senate races too. We need to turn our country from Red to BLUE!!1

It brings to light how damaging it was to have the Far Right in control, a one-party government. They are upset and want more (see quote below). It's the Democrats' time. They have a record of solving problems and cleaning up. Time to play fair and share.

"2. We need a message change that frankly acknowledges that the Democrats are probably going to win the White House -- and that warns of the dangers of one-party, left-wing government. -David Frum, Washington Post"

The problems that caused this go back to the use of derivatives starting '81 & REGULATIONS requiring banks to make unqualified loans to the poor in the Jimmy Carter years, followed by Clinton & congress pushing for more unqualified loans to the poor. Maxine Waters (D) words to Congress in 2003, in meetings to discuss regulating Fannie/Freddie were that nothing was broke. Bush did try several times to get congress to regulate Fannie /Freddie starting in 2001. Meanwhile from 1998 forward ( before Bush) Credit Default Swaps were a great way to free up capital in the banking world & off the books. Congress insisted Fannie & Freddie were sound. Democrats yelled the loudest for the loans to continue. As the housing bubble burst the folks that were not qualified for loans could no longer keep their head above water by refinancing. The fuel prices filled up the last of their credit cards. The Credit Default Swaps are up to 60 Trillion. The bankers don't know who has the worst bundle of "Tranches" (their term for the loan bundles) so they are afraid to loan each other money. Finally the CRISIS just before the election. This problem was building for over 30 years. Banks are much more likely to make sound decisions when they keep their loans in house. Without the bloated sub prime loans there wouldn't have been "tranches" SO it is a democrat & republican debacle. Electing an unqualified left wing socialist President is not the fix we

This is reminiscent of new labour ads in 1997 here in the UK. Please don't copy everything they did though Democrats. They didn't keep their promises and let the city rip.

We got that with Bill Clinton, too. Let's hope we've learned the lessons of Clintonian deregulation and all the damage that the Blair-led Labour Party caused.

I have always believed that children should not be involved in our political fights. I still believe it. Whether it's Terri Schiavo or an Obama ad. It just shouldn't be done. Of course, the counter argument is that parents are permitted within limits to raise their children as they see fit. Being without children of my own, I still cannot empathize with parents who use their children in their political battles.

Kids should be allowed to participate in the political process. They will bear the burden of the last 8 years.

That child will be paying for the Bush/McCain devastation for the rest of her life and will have to pass it on to her children. This is the reality for her future.

And this is not an Obama campaign ad.

And wasn't Terri Schiavo a grown woman?

True and it hits to the heart of every family. It should run every day. This is what GWB did in 8 years.

Eloquent, the heart of the matter. It but amazes and dismays that a single president and his administration could do so much damage, but then he did do worse to Iraq.

People remember when you'd hear about mothers dropping off babies, etc. Now men are dropping off their children all across America. It so sad, more and more familys do have a place to live and have to give their children up! Of course you won't see it on t.v. about how bad it is. But its pretty sad when a guy has had a job and then gets lay off and has no money and is eating out of garbage cans. We are talking about a whole new homelessness. Its so scary. Please for pete's sake. Vote Obama/Biden. 08' Our people in the country can't take it anymore! Think of the young kids and familys that have worked and paid their taxes and what do they have now?

...And the Republicans made it rain, too. On people who can no longer afford umbrellas. Curse their twisted black rain-loving hearts.

Okay, my need to mock such obvious and heavy-handed emotional manipulation aside, if this is what it takes to get the Republican rainmakers safely out of office, I'm all for it.

On the other hand, 8 years of totally ignoring global warming is starting to cause a lot of weather changes.

(Oh, sure, but global warming isn't manmade or anything. The dinosaurs started it six thousand years ago, with their +3 breath weapons.)

it's a crying shame what the Republicans have done to our country...

To fight this, we must GO VOTE....!!! We need a landslide so there are no excuses of a recount or any other scam that McCain tries!!

I don't have much regard for the democratic party anymore. But I absolutely despise the republican party. This ad accurately reflects the hell the republicans have imposed on the nation through their "pro-business" agenda and their fanatical love of war. No "R.I.P. for the republican party. Rather Rest in Torment. That's what they deserve for what they've done to America.
