This is sort of off topic of this post, but respectfully, can anyone white person answer these questions:

When a white person endorses Obama or claims that he/she is going to vote for him, is it because Obama is black? As of late, several white GOP senators and other white GOP conversatives have endorsed Obama. Are they doing so only because he's black?

Colin Powell, one of the most intelligent and decorated military men in America, and a beloved person by both blacks and whites, endorses Obama and it's because Powell is black. But what can be said when a prominent white person endorses Obama?

Just curious.

The GOP put two unqualified candidates on a Presidential ticket.

They do not deserve 40 seats in the Senate

I felt sorry for John McCain when he struggled to remember the name of the 5th Secretary of State and even sorrier when he showed the look of delight when he finally managed to remember the name even as Brokaw had already moved on in the interview.

Then it occurred to me that I was feeling sorry for the John McCain of 2000 not the John McCain of 2008 who has spent all his political capital by his flip flops on the economy, torture, and his support of Bush's failed policies - his selection of Palin is merely the cherry on top of the sundae.

So say good night, Senator McCain, I'm sure that the RNC has some nice parting gifts for you and Cindy.

He is tired, that's all.

The real news is that he says he does not agree with Rush Limbaugh.
So many McCain supporters listen to Rush religiously. That is the real message here:
your candidate dismisses Limbaugh and so should you!!!

I'm pro-Obama, but this is silly. This is a mistake anyone could make.
As a life-long democrat, I don't like it when we make ourselved look as stupid that they are.

This should not be overplayed. Give the guy a break.

i'm pained- -i'm an obama supporter--never have sent money to any political campaign--but have sent contribs 3x--like many others --my dad spent his last years with altzheimers--we didn't see it coming but should have suspected--if i knew then (2001) what i know now --i would have given him more help--i see john mccain doing the same thing my dad did---wandering and getting lost but then coming back to normalcy as i knew him--when your in a state of denial or ignorance--you just hope that it's your imagination and dad is ok-conclusion was-he's getting older and give him a break--bottom line--we were both ignorant and wrong --im not slamming mccain--but feel that he's got moments of confusion--repeating the same lines and at no times seeming extemporaneus--the choice is ours-vote for him with palin as the next in line commander-in-chief--whoa--makes you think

This was a simple question. Notice how McCain turned it totally around to be all about HIM? I am not surprised at all. He should have defended Obama more on what Limbaugh said about race being an issue. Based on this clip and others I have seen it appears McCain is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's.

With Alzheimer's, the first thing that goes is short term memory.

My dad had it.

They tend to regress into and live in the past. The longer the disease progresses, the further back in the past they live.

The brain seems to shut down in reverse. Before my dad passed, he was back in his teens asking for his mother - he was 81 when he died and the disease started at 70-72 thereabouts.

There is no cure.

Names and Nouns!

YEP! I agree.

It is sad to see. Just since May, it is like McCain has aged 5 years.

2000 was McCain’s election,,, these last 8 years are not only a headwind of Republican disappointments, but they have deeply taken their toll on McCain. I don’t think he has ever been the same after Bush slandered him so. (claim of fathering a black child)

Race issues played a horribly negative role in the 2000 Republican Primary. Now McCain himself seems to be pandering to the Lowest common denominator of the Republican Party with his, “Not like us” or “The Other America” statements and his Rush to Judgment over that Campaign worker that lied about a black man attacking her. Why or why didn’t McCain take the time to Vet that story first?

I believe Obama is a much better choice, based on Policies and Economics grasp.

It is just sad to see this erosion of McCains abilities. I agree with Colin Powel’s assessment on the Palin vetting too. I think she is not ready nor ever was. I think she was chosen simply because McCain DID believe Baracks appeal, was simply celebrity. McCain cannot except that Obama is ready to lead, if not, more capable than he. Palin to me still seems like an act of desperation on the part of McCain, and a cynical assessment that he could mold Palin into a female version of a celebrity attraction for voters.

All the best

John, my friend, it is clear that this campaign has taken more out of you than you have to give. Here's your blankey. Now go take a nice nap and when you wake up you can sip a can of yummy chocolate Ensure through your favorite curly-cue straw!

I just wonder if a McCain aide held up a paper with the name he could not remember, this campaign has been a disaster the number of mistakes he continues to make, I am not and ever will be ageist but it is showing that he slowing down fast and it frightens me that someone like Palin so so close to being President.

There must be no complacency and people getting carried away with poll leads, every Vote counts until those polls close on November 4th and they have to be for Barack Obama to stop 4 more years of Bush Politics and those of the Past!

A friend who is a doctor who treats many geriatric patients is convinced McCain is showing preliminary signs of Alzheimer's. He says to watch his eyes when he speaks...He sees telltale signs.

It was a honest mistake. Heck, I do it all the time. I am not going to make fun of a honest mistake.
