I have to admit that I feel sad when I see McCain like this. He should never have run. His age is showing and the fact that his advisers put him out there disgusts me. We have to win.

It's not his advisers, it's him and his ego. Remember it has always been his "ambition" to be president. I feel nothing but disgust for him.

I agree.

What concerned me was that Tom Brokaw had to keep steering McCain back to the current question in the interview.

you're forgetting that tom is the liason between nbc and the mccain camp. i'd really wish tom will remain retired once the election is over. he just soiled his reputation. i, for one, a long-time fan of his, am very disappointed in him.

Why hasn't any journalist asked McCain about his abysmal record on veterans' issues? Or him sealing away his POW records, but wanting to run on htem. The MSM has become a joke in this country. Jon Stewart asks harder hitting questions on The Daily Show.

Did anyone notice that when speaking of the banking crisis McCain said that "America was a victim of a drive by shooting" ? This was an obvious attempt to leave viewers with a negative feeling towards African Americans and therefore Obama. I am surprised people have not picked up on what looks like an obvious Republican play.

I don't agree. Not all drive-bys are committed by African-Americans (obviously); the comment may instead be trying to divert attention away from the lax gov't banking regulations that led to the problems. i.e. "We're just victims."

At 72, I don't think John McCain is cut out to handle the job of President of the United States. The job will age anyone. Sorry to the Republicans and PUMAs, but McCain is just too old.

He doesn't look well. I think the campaign has taken a lot out of him. Not to mention Palin.

Poor guy has totally lost his mind. Is this the button I push for room service or nuclear war?

McCain is not obsessed with Joe the Plumer (Joe the Biden). It is called perseveration, i.e. the inability to change a mental set. It is a sign of brain impairment. The man has MCI, mild cognitive impairment and it is getting worse. A vote for McCain is a vote for Sarah is a vote for Todd Palin as president.

Not to mention, when he said he wanted to give babies hot bottled water and don't forget My fellow prisoners! Easy there........

Maybe after he loses the election he can forget why he picked Palin.

I think he was going for "flag officer" but couldn't finish his thought. It doesn't serve him well to get into vocabulary not familiar to random civilians (and then to sort of trail off); I had also thought it was another "moment."

Everyone mis-speaks on occasion, but for McCain it's an every day, every minute , every second kind of thing. I'm 55 and forgets things sometimes, but McCain's mental acumen is disturbingly non-existent!!

TO AGREE OR NOT TO AGREE,

THAT IS THE QUESTION ...

that people are asking about folks living in rural pennsylvania.

Get it ?

Yeah but in this case, McCain was trying to make a counter argument to Powell's endorsement of Obama.

If you are going to try to nullify Powell's gravitas, you should at least show that your sec of state supporters have a similarly equal amount.

But if you can't even remember their names, that totally makes it a moot point.

P.S:

McCain: My secretary of state is better than your secretary of your state.

I still think he was talking about the various territories as well as the states that got to vote, don't you? (eg DC, Guam. Puerto Rico, Americans in Europe, US Virgin Islands)

John Mccain looks very ill and his mind seems weaker each time he speaks.
I wish his family would take better care of him and make sure he doesn't fall and that he brushes his dentures.
