Obama Crowd

Barack Obama drew a crowd of over 100,000 at a rally in Denver on Sunday, the AP reports:

The Obama campaign released an initial crowd estimate of 75,000 people. That was later upgraded to "well over" 100,00 people, a tally confirmed by a Denver police spokesman.

The setting, on a sparkling day in this battleground state, said perhaps more than Obama did in his actual speech. His campaign is capitalizing on the scope of such rallies to get people to cast votes early, permitted in Colorado and more than two dozen other states.

Below are some great photos of the event, courtesy of Getty.

love it here cause we mostly all are Obama supporters but was just reading ABC and they have way too many inaccurate posts (trolls), since some of you are great with real info maybe you could ad a bit over there as well.

McCain is stressing over tax and spend liberals but he didn't seem to have the slightest concern over borrow and spend conservatives; the people he supported 95% of the time over the past 8 years and 90% of the time over the past 28 years. We positively need to sweep the GOP out of Washington and preferably out of business. We definitely need an opposition party but we need an honest one not a self serving party full of ideologues who can't see past their own narrow self interests.

These huge crowds reinforce that Americans are engaged. NO AMERICAN IDOL POLITICS THIS YEAR!! Obama has changed the game. Americans want the smart guys. Bush and McSame have been horrendous in their leadership roles. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Yipee for Obama & Biden!

I voted. Tag, you're it.

Maybe your comment is sarcasm/satire, in which case..very funny. If not, well, it is just laughable. Yeah, what's wrong with these Obama supporters? Getting all "manipulated"..not like the rocket scientists who voted for a "cowboy" who bought his "ranch" solely for the purpose of image manipulation and brush-clearing photo ops..because they thought he would be a fun guy to "have a beer with" and was "one of them"...if you are anything like W..you have my sympathies. And man, what an expensive beer that has been!

Clearing brush... now there's a hobby. I never really thought about that until now. That's a job any sane person hires out. It is not fun. Not satisfying. Not rewarding. Unless you get paid.

This shows us that all these polls are pure bull and nothing more. These people there in Denver,
and so many people sending so much money, now that is what the true picture is.
If this thing turns out to be a landslide, then I would think the polling people should just close
up shop. . Because they are worse than useless.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:35 AM on 10/27/2008

plus all the polls are based on people who voted in 2004 so all the new voters that Obama has been getting all the way from the primaries up to now are not really counted the youth vote for instance add these people and the polls would have a bigger gap

Diagnosis : lonely, negative, deeply unhappy, anti-social who'd rather get negative attention than none at all -

So he comes here to a pro-Obama story (instead of being with his fellow Re.pugs.) where he feels guaranteed that pro.vo.cation will work :
Theory : Any kind of attention is better than none.
It's a si.ck.ne.ss.

Yes they do. It's called democracy. The more people you get to back you, the more votes you get. Pretty simple, actually.

This week-end we drove up to a quaint little town in the mountains to see the fall foliage. It's one of those beautiful, pictaresque places that seems to swell w. the latte, arugula crowd on the week-ends (ha-ha). Usually my husband and I joke about having to drive through 'Deliverance' country to get there but this week-end we noticed something v. surprising in the boonies...several Obama/Biden signs and even more surprisingly none of them had been torn down or defaced in any way. Times they are a-changing.

Flick08; my husband an i had the same experience the other day in west virginia. a lot of Obama signs, just a few mccain. we stopped at a restaurant and the owner told us that for the first time that particular county was going blue. we were amazed. and happy too.

Wow, what an awesome spectacle!
The pictures are truly amazing, and being there must have been so exciting.
I feel like I am a part of something that is life and World changing.
By Voting, donating and encouraging others to do the same, we are all working towards a better Country, Life and World.
I am so very proud to be an Obama supporter.
It just feels good to have hope again!

Wow! I've said it before and I'll say it again: I've never, ever seen anything like this in my lifetime (I'm 39). Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Crowds this size ARE significant and it does mean something. This many people at this late stage of the campaign do not show up just because they're curious. This is commitment. This is belief. This is HOPE. Hope that a new day is coming, soon, and that it will begin with a man called President Barack Obama.

I'm around your age BlackDemfromNH and I think the same things when I see the amazing pictures of the crowds Barack Obama draws. The only other recent pictures I've seen like this where from the Civil Rights movement and involved Dr. Reverand Martin Luther King.

Just "Hope" these 100,000+ people are NOT BLUFFING when they say they would Vote for Obama..

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:24 AM on 10/27/2008

A bigger concern is that MANY will be voting for Barack--but will their vote REGISTER as Obama or McCain? We need to spread the word for voters to CHECK THEIR VOTE FOR ACCURACY--don't assume Obama until you SEE IT FOR SURE. Insist that your vote is ACCURATE before leaving the polls. DO NOT ASSUME THAT A STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT VOTE WILL ENSURE OBAMA. Verify, Verify, Verify, and then check it one more time, especially our loyal Senior Citizens and first-time voters.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:39 AM on 10/27/2008

They aren't bluffing.

Going to a rally isn't easy. You have to wait in line and stand around for a long time. I took my family, including my 6-month old son, to the Biden rally here in Washington State. We stood in line for two hours and then stood another three in the actual stadium. My legs and back were so sore by the end. I periodically took my nine year old daughter onto my back so she could see the speakers. Luckily, my eleven year old son is already 5'2 and he managed to get his way to the front so he could see Biden and the local politicians up close. I was so happy to be able to share the experience with my kids and raise their awareness of how important political awareness and participation is in our society.

Believe me, the people who brave these rallies are voting for the candidate.

Big, big smiles on this one for me. But, I did cry when I saw the photos from St. Louis! It's so exciting to see this incredible support for a new vision of the future. People are getting that it isn't about him, it's about US!

I agree with you on that one! When I saw the picture of all those people with Barack on stage under the arch, I must admit my eyes teared up and my heart was filled with hope!

Now GO VOTE and lets make this happen

Everyone needs to vote!

This just shows you that if we show up and vote, it will be a landslide for O. As long as it isn't stolen once again... but hopefully there are no electronic machines with no paper trail...

Amazing to see these crowds. I'd love to see the same venue for MC/Palin and see how many show up. Then we could have a direct (and drastic) comparison between the supporters. It wouldn't even be close.
