What's Your Reaction?

Sarah Palin addresses the $150,000 in clothing purchased for her by the Republican National Committee at a rally. She compares the outfits to the lighting at an event, saying it doesn't belong to her and that she will go back to shopping at her "favorite consignment store" once the race is over. She went on to highlight some of her inexpensive accessories. Watch:

John McCain also defended the purchases on "Meet The Press" Sunday morning. He said that a third of the clothing has been returned, and that the rest will be donated to charity.

However, Palin's remarks were apparently not approved by the campaign. The incident is another example of tensions in the ticket that were reported over the weekend, as the vice presidential candidate is starting to go "rogue."

Some aides to Sen. John McCain say they weren't happy that running mate Sarah Palin went off script Sunday and turned attention back to the controversy over her wardrobe.

...

A senior McCain adviser told CNN that those comments "were not the remarks we sent to her plane." Palin did not discuss the wardrobe story at her rally in Kissimmee, Florida, later in the day.

A Palin aide, however, told CNN that the governor clearly felt like she had to say something to defend herself, because "that's really not who she is."

Over the weekend, sources told CNN that long-brewing tensions between Palin and key aides to McCain were on the rise.

Several McCain advisers suggested that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

Funny thing is the story doesn't fit. Either she spent the money or she didn't. She first said, well I did but not with taxpayers money instead we used donations and we're donating them when all this is over. Then McCain said yes she did because apparently her family needed 150k in clothes and accessories. THEN she said, no way I had no part in it. They were purchased for me. Which is it? She and her intelligent friend Elizabeth Hasselbeck made a mockery of the whole thing as if it's no big deal but THEN she comes out saying "I'M WEARING MY OWN CLOTHES!" for what? If there was NOTHING wrong with what you were doing why did you change it?

Are her looks? Oh well, you get the point.

I'm no fan of Palin, but I can believe that it wasn't her idea to spend $150,000 on clothes, hair and make-up (although she could have turned much of it down). This woman doesn't know the difference between Jimmy Choo and Jimmy Hoffa. It's just those elitist Repugs who knew that her biggest selling point as a celebrity (er, I mean, politician) is her looks.

Just goes to show ya' "You can dress her up but you can't take her out."

Sarah, take the clothes as parting gifts. Thanks for playing "Who Wants to be a VP? Now go home.

What do the campaign's tell us about each candidate's ability to lead?

Obama Campaign: Strategic, steady under pressure, disciplined, intelligent, inspirational, finds allies among former enemies, informed by the most qualified people from economics to foreign affairs. No Drama Obama.

McCain Campaign: Lurches from one idea to the next, reactive, negative, divisive, bitter, repels traditional allies, appeals to a narrow and angry base, surrounds itself with lobbyists and Bush hacks.

Guess who came into office as mayor to cut wasteful spending and lower property taxes, actually left office with Wasilla over $20 million in debt, when records show that she entered office with city debt at one million or less. Some $14-15 million of that debt was due. Fiscal conservative Sarah Palin!

Guess who couldn't answer one question when put on the spot but could later go back and study to repeat what's been drilled in that pea she calls her brain? SARAH PALIN! Some people are so set in there ways they refuse to think of the possibility of anything new. If McCain God forbid should die in office you really think Palin could be Pres.? Give me a break!

Don't people have Republican criticisms of Edward's $400 hair cut? Wasn't that a big to-do?

What Palin really said was that she is headed back to Alaska ... not on to Washington where she might "need" those expensive threads. Back to her favorite consignment store in Alaska. Watch closely and listen. Palin just admitted that she thinks this race is over.

Sarah Palin is convincing only the "riff-raff' electorate with her sarcastic comparison of the wardrobe purchases to utilitarian needs for the campaign. The intelligent American people are simply once again amazed at yet another of this candidate's attempts to assassinate (metaphorically speaking) John McCain and the team members. If Sarah was soooo upset with these purchases, why did she accept them? Her "rogue" statements would have been believable then, not now.
Sarah Palin's arrogance is only superceded by her vast and incomprehensible ignorance. This woman demonstrates, on a daily basis, her contempt for the patriotism and political process which is a mainstay of our nation's heritage. Her goal is to skip any further time-wasting rallies, appeal to the radical one percent of the electorate to eliminate McCain, and jump right into the White House. She is so infinitely stupid she genuinely believes that the presidential office is hers for the taking!
Beware Sarah Palin. There are too many of us on this watch who are aware of what you are doing. You will go down.
It is our wish that your family will abandon you to hone your diplomatic skills while observing Russia from your favorite site. It is our hope that the people of Alaska have tired of your scathing lies about their beautiful state and will begin the impeachment process upon your return. We will simply be glad that you are gone. Your future in politics can only be defined as abysmal, ya' betcha!

Does anybody by this, "We going to give it to charity lie?"
First of all, I don't think this is that big of a issue, but it is revealing.
Did you really think she would re-wear these outfits anyway.
Women don't re-wear clothes to special events like this.
She is a liar.
