What's Your Reaction?

Sarah Palin addresses the $150,000 in clothing purchased for her by the Republican National Committee at a rally. She compares the outfits to the lighting at an event, saying it doesn't belong to her and that she will go back to shopping at her "favorite consignment store" once the race is over. She went on to highlight some of her inexpensive accessories. Watch:

John McCain also defended the purchases on "Meet The Press" Sunday morning. He said that a third of the clothing has been returned, and that the rest will be donated to charity.

However, Palin's remarks were apparently not approved by the campaign. The incident is another example of tensions in the ticket that were reported over the weekend, as the vice presidential candidate is starting to go "rogue."

Some aides to Sen. John McCain say they weren't happy that running mate Sarah Palin went off script Sunday and turned attention back to the controversy over her wardrobe.

...

A senior McCain adviser told CNN that those comments "were not the remarks we sent to her plane." Palin did not discuss the wardrobe story at her rally in Kissimmee, Florida, later in the day.

A Palin aide, however, told CNN that the governor clearly felt like she had to say something to defend herself, because "that's really not who she is."

Over the weekend, sources told CNN that long-brewing tensions between Palin and key aides to McCain were on the rise.

Several McCain advisers suggested that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

So what is she saying?

After Nov 4th I know I'll be sent back to Alaska as a loser?

or

After I somehow, through con and fraud get this job, I won't need to "look nice" anymore?

Both answers are complete BS.

So long, honey. Don't let the dressing room door hit your ass on your way out.

Sarah Palin is running for president in 2012 regardless of what happens next Tuesday.

Look at her behavior on the campaign trail for the next eight days with that perspective and nothing she does will surprise you.

I agree. She is hatching her plot and she sees there are enough dumb people to buy into it. This is a very calculating woman. I pray she goes back to Alaska and spmehow we get a smarter electorate so she will fade away into the Alaskan tundra where she belongs.

Yes, apparently she's the next Reagan. Good luck with that one. I'm sure the idea of yet another bubba leadership will be real appealing in the 21st century here and in the world. Bleagh

A third of the clothes have been returned? What? After she wore them once?

I knew a rich lady who did that with drapes. She'd get new drapes when she had a party, then would return them the next day.

Frankly, WHO CARES any more about her stupid wardrobe? The news is already out, that it's $150k for that and $13k for hair and make up jobs. The rest is just drivel. If it hadn't been excessive, most woud have said, okay, so, she needed to look vice presidential.

They excessively spent to dress and style Barbie for her big dance. Some Republicans are happy, some are not. Now, could we move on to our crashing economy?

Yeah, NOW she's back to wearing her own clothes...as opposed to if this news story never broke. Now she is trying to BS her way out of it. Is she to be congratulated for wearing clothes that she has bought with her own money? Whoopie. So much for talking about issues that really matter to Americans.

I'm sure there's a really FABULOUS consignment store in Alaska that sells all of the cast-off designer labels worn by the high society ladies. Okey Dokey.

Palin, will go back to shopping at her "favorite consignment store", aren't there any Washington DC? Look like she's throwing in the towel and heading back to Alaska. Good news, indeed.

Does this mean he cannot be re-elected? If re-elected and cannot serve will Palin appoint herself to the US Senate?

Once this race is over, that's exactly where Palin will be, back home in Alaska for good.

What about Truck's clothes, baby's bunny suit, Piper's outfits, Zamboni's suit, Teenage Dad's new suit, Mom and Dad's outfits, let alone the transportation for all, motel (choke here), I mean hotel rooms, meals...did they stay out of the mini-bar? Sarah and Todd's tax returns indicate (deduction for a crib to charity) they are ones who take all they can on everyone else. Talk about loopholes and insiders!

This whole topic is a sexist goat rope, y'all. I mean golly, Republicans want to talk about the issues that matter to us, you betcha! John and me and our party aren't interested in talkin' about things like makeup and stylists, clothes, haircuts... Unless its that creepy Edwards guy getting a new do. But y'all he got such a deal on that $400 haircut and after we lose I'm gonna find his stylist.

At least she'll have something nice to wear to the concession speech.

Not really; thrift shops not consignment stores sell every day clothing. I think Palin will appear wearing things like an old sofa, worthless oil paintings, tools, refrigerators..etc

BIG NEWS!!!

Brickley just announced on CNN to Rick Sanchez that "the Bush people" (in the McCain campaign) were responsible for handling Palin and making he wardrobe decision.

THE BUSH PEOPLE in the McCain campaign???

--This proves Obama's point of more of the shame Bush-McCain policies.
--This proves Obama's point about McCain's inability to change anything with the same crew.

***This should be a headliner since this has been Obama's prevailing theme of not wanting 4 more years of the same Bush-McCain policies.

This was delivered to us by a REPUBLICAN, Brickley.

Bush's speechwriter wrote Palin's snarky acceptance speech for the convention. She revels in attacking and takes disturbing pride in her natural use of contemptuous, condescending sarcasm ("community organizer"). These are characteristics that the rest of the world now expects from America's leader...if that leader is McCain and/or Palin. This woman scares me to the quick.

Silly-Billies. Gosh dern it, just 'cause $150,000 got spent, doesn't mean that what it got it spent on is an issue. We don't even want to talk about it... But look at my ear-rings, and let me tell you about the clothes that aren't expensive.

Now, forget about this, and trust me when I say that spendin' that $150,000 was a total accident. Not that it'll happen again, but if it does, it doesn't say anything about me.
