Guitar Hero Commercial Featuring Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez, Tony Hawk And Michael Phelps (VIDEO) (POLL)

Guitar Hero has hired some serious star power for their new ad for the video game. The ad features A-Rod, Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk and Michael Phelps in an homage (maybe?) to the classic Tom Cruise scene in "Risky Business." I love to see arod with no pants on. Nice legs. Kobe had some nice moves too. Who knew He and Kobe could move. They usually look so stiff and robotic. I still love them both. As long as Arod stays away from Madonna. She's like old enought to be his mother. I hope he finds out soon how psycho she is and distances himself her quickly.

rock band is made by the same people who make guitar hero. it consists of the guitar plus a bass, drums, and microphone. this ad has a bass, drums, and microphone, and is therefore rock band. not guitar hero.

Rock Band is made by Harmonix, who made Guitar Hero 1, 2 and the horrible spin-off "Rocks the 80's."

Red Octane made the guitar for the aforementioned games, and thus had part of the license. They were bought by Activision, as well as the Guitar Hero license.

Harmonix was bought by EA, and they now make Rock Band.

It is Red Octane and Neversoft (of Tony Hawk) who make Guitar Hero, and they are owned by Activision. So you're wrong - however, you're right in saying the game is essentially Rock Band, as it's a blatant attempt to duplicate what Rock Band has done.

AS for the commercial? Funny, I like Risky Business so I appreciate the attempt at humor.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band are different franchises made by different developers. This ad is for Guitar Hero World Tour, which is essentially a ripoff of Rock Band.

As a 20-yr old college student I absolutely love this commercial. It capitalizes on the idea that everyone, at least a little bit, wants to be a rock star, and with guitar hero anyone can be one. The only way to really show the "anyoneness" that this game provides is to show superstars in other fields rocking out. There aren't many people famous for being a regular person (sans Joe the Plumber, but that would definitely be a reason to not purchase the new guitar hero) so you cant blame the advertisers for their choices.
