Guitar Hero Commercial Featuring Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez, Tony Hawk And Michael Phelps (VIDEO) (POLL)

Guitar Hero has hired some serious star power for their new ad for the video game. The ad features A-Rod, Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk and Michael Phelps in an homage (maybe?) to the classic Tom Cruise scene in "Risky Business." My husband is probably in the target audience for this ad (25 y.o. male) and he LOVED it. But he wanted the game before the commercial anyway...

I support that sorta thing, voting for Obama / Biden to insure the right to do that sort of thing, but I still do not want to watch it any more then I want to watch my neighbors prance in their undies...

You know, I like this commercial for the same reason I liked the gladiator-inspired movie 300...anytime you give me a chance to see half-dressed men I'll gladly take you up on the offer.

The commercial is actually for the game Guitar Hero. Either way for the amount of money they probably paid for this commercial I doubt they will recoup. It is cool but not cool enough as after the Olympics no one cares about Phelps anymore and A-Rod and Hawk are both kind of has been on the scene. Kobe is the only one still with a large following it seems.

uhhhhh you do realize that the Guitar Hero franchise has sold over 23 MILLION copies...don't think recouping advertising $$$ is going to be a problem

Two bitter rivals, in fact! It's worth noting that this ad has nothing to do with Rock Band -- it's for the new Guitar Hero game. Not that it matters to the celebrities in this ad (it's obvious that they have no idea how to play the game).

That being said, this ad is an abomination in the eyes of God. Okay, maybe not that bad. Just mediocre, I guess. The GH series has always had some pretty lousy ads. I mean, compare the above silliness with the AC/DC ad for Rock Band 2...
