Mccain Steep Hill

John McCain has a "very steep hill to climb" to win the election, former White House adviser Karl Rove told "Fox News Sunday."

Rove, nicknamed "The Architect" for his role in helping President Bush win the last two elections, gave a sober assessment of McCain's chances, explaining that Barack Obama is ahead with 317 electoral votes, according to his own electoral map.

Rove forecast that Virginia, Colorado, Indiana and Ohio would go Obama's way and that McCain has to win back those states and dominate the remaining battleground states to have any chance of winning:

In order to -- in order for McCain to win, he's got a very steep hill to climb. He's got to win all of the toss-up states, 64 electoral votes, all the yellow-shaded states on the map.

Then he needs to strip away Ohio and Indiana with 31 electoral votes to get him to 252. And then he needs to either win Colorado and Virginia, which gets him to 274, or win one of them plus Pennsylvania, which would get him to 282 or 286. It's a steep uphill climb.

Rove also commented on recent reports about infighting within the McCain campaign:

It is a sign of undisciplined people who do not have the loyalty that they ought to have to the candidate whom they're serving. And it's -- it's a sad sight to see. Nobody makes themselves look good by this process..

Badda Bing.

It was interesting to hear Rove say that, among other superhuman accomplishments required over the next nine days, McCain has to “strip away” Ohio and Indiana in order to win the election. Although (I think) he was using the term simply to point out a need to move those states from the Obama side of the street over to McCain’s, in the case of Ohio, “stripping away” is an ironic term since it carries with it a certain tone of degradation (“strip mining”, “strip club”, strip poker, etc.) and brings to mind former Ohio Republican Secretary of State Ken Blackwell’s crude assault on Ohioans voting rights in 2004. Hopefully the attempts currently being made by the Ohio GOP and the Bush administration to force DOJ action on making 200,000 Ohio poll-goers use provisional ballots on November 4 (despite a recent Supreme Court ruling in relation to this matter) won’t work or else the Republican’s could be well on their way to once again flagrantly “stripping” Ohio of its actual choice in 2008. Current Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner has worked valiantly to reform the Ohio voting process into a fair and transparent mechanism but that’s the last thing the Republican’s need this year, so stay tuned.

There once was a guy, I remember,
who told me in early September,
he was going away
on that very day,
September this year, I remember,

He said he'd be doing some writing,
that he was just sick of the fighting,
and you'll know him, too,
his name is Ga Bu,
but now he's come back...and he's biting.

What ails you tonight, Ga Bu? You are not usually this n@sty.

Another dancing monkey made a solo break, but was exposed early, now tries to pass it off as a joke..the monkey was serious when it looked foolish, all in an effort to make the observer look foolish.

McCain has a very steep hill to climb indeed.

Let's hope the same for Darren White, a Republican running for New Mexico's 1st district (which includes most of Albuquerque). He is now slightly trailing his challenger Democrat Martin Heinrich, the former Albuquerque City Council President, 43% to 41%.

Let's not forget Republican Darren White's close associations with President George W. Bush. From the link below:

"White served as county director for the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign in 2004 and hosted Bush for a May fundraiser this year.
[...]
"Heinrich has sought to link White to the Administration scandal over the politicized firings of U.S. Attorneys. White was named in a Justice Department report as one of several Republican officials who urged former U.S. Attorney David Iglesias to pursue allegations of voter fraud in the state — contacts Iglesias later described as improper political pressure."
[...]
"Flush Democratic leaders apparently believe Heinrich is a candidate worth investing in. "He was always tagged as kind of a rising star in state politics, if not national politics," Rocca says of Heinrich"

At a time of national crisis, we can ill afford to have another Republican representative in Congress. I urge many of you to donate today. I just sent $50. Here's the link to Democrat Martin Heinrich's donation page:

I've been working on my own electoral map and this is my prediction:
Obama= 342 electoral votes, McCain=207 electoral votes
Barack Obama the president elect of the US.

Dear John McCain,

You are beginning to sound mean and irritable.

Now, she sounds and speaks like Palin. If Palin is GOP's raising star and new hope, then Hasselbeck can also be upcoming star of GOP...She can easily be Palin's running mate or presidential nominee for 2012...

its not a "very steep hill", Karl. Its more like a sheer rock cliff, 1000 ft high, that's so smooth, there ain't even a toe-hold.
