Dozens Of Call Center Workers Quit Over McCain Attacks

At least three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.

Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."

Disappointed with the MSM blackout on this story. I think only Maddow covered it. I called both major papers here in Chicago and the local news stations pretty early yesterday and was told by all that they would look into it.

I guess it is sadly not surprising to see Corporate Media shying away from any story that promotes labor action.

Interesting that a business could get away with forcing it's employees to read political drivel for one side or quit/be fired. Surely there was other work those who disagree with this ad could do? AFter all, our own pharmacists are getting in on the nonsense by allowing themselves the option of deciding who gets which prescriptions and who doesnt.

It is sad that people trying to make a living are put in this position....to choose between their job or their morales. In an economy that is so horrible it is so wrong for the McCain camp to do this to hard working people. McCain should be ashammed of himself.

Its better than that, these people werent volunteering it was at a telemarketing call center where these people had jobs. The McCain campaign hired the telemarketing firm to make these calls, so the management at the firm didnt have to say these things they just had to make their employees do it, for pay; so they gave up their scarce jobs for Their Integrity.
So these honest people walked off their jobs because of the Lack of integrity by the McCain campaign and the Telemarketing firm itself. Zero decency at the top, lots of it with the poor and middle classes.
