Talking Points Memo:

At least three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.

Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."

Stupid McCain should have outsourced these calls to India, where people will do what they're told for less.

This is exactly what a great leader does. He inspires.

If the Obama team had returned McCain's slime everytime, or if Obama had decided to be as nasty as McCain was in the debates, and if his rallies were full of hate and deriisiion, there would be no problem getting the folks to read that script.

But he has been consistent in maintaining the Calm, the Peace, and in maintaining harmony,. This kind of leader is rare. How many have we had in the last 100 years, where a leader has brought a message of hope like water to parched lips under a desert sun? Something tells me that because of the character of this man, he will inspire many Americans, and make the worlld believe in us again. Perhaps his role is to show the world that we must learn to settle our differences other than through military conflict.

Yeah, but it's all Obama's fault. Because, you see, the townhall-style debates that McCain wanted in the Summer was the only thing standing between decency and dishonor. When Obama declined those meetings, McCain couldn't help himself.

Shoot, the RNC and McCain can outsource that to India. I expect it.

These young women got their first taste of what Republicans are all about.

They are fighters and should be praised.

Every once in a while The People stand up.

When we do, everything changes.

Rosa Parks wouldn't give up her seat on that bus in Montgomery.

And this week forty or so real Americans stood up for what is right.

I'M NOT STOPPING MY WORK FOR OBAMA. But it seems to me we may (IF EVERYBODY REFUSES TO LET UP, POURING IT ON EXTRA HARD, AND THEN HARDER FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS) on the cusp of the most important socio-political sea change since 1932.

I pray it, make it so.
